Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Stufflebean.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My story starts the day my Dad brought home a VHS camera he had purchased from a garage sale. I was about ten years old at the time and remember feeling so excited that I could finally create my own “movies”. Growing up with seven siblings also had its benefits as I had plenty of on-screen talent for my home videos. I still love making home videos to this day and having kids of my own makes it so much more special.
The turning point for me as a video creator came in 2017. I was given the opportunity to film a promotional video for a local fitness instructor in the Dallas area. For the first time in my life, I was using my skills as a videographer on a commercial project and I loved it. After completing the project, I started filming real estate videos, corporate events, and wedding films. In 2018, I officially stepped out and started my business called Steven Arthur Films.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One resource that I have relied on to grow my skills as a video creator is a course by Parker Walbeck called Full Time Filmmaker. I credit this course with giving me the confidence to step out and turn my hobby as a videographer into a business. When I first started learning about the many aspects of video production, I felt completely overwhelmed. This course has helped me immensely with its extensive library of training videos where Parker teaches the skills every video creator needs to be successful. I highly recommend this course.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Steven Arthur Films story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a lifestyle videographer specializing in a wide variety of services. I love telling stories and my passion is doing that through video. I currently offer the following video services:
• Wedding Films
• Corporate Events
• Brand Promotions
• Family Films
• Real Estate Videos
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I have been lucky to work with some amazing clients. In 2019, I had the opportunity to film a promotional video for a local yarn shop in Historic Downtown McKinney. This opportunity allowed me to get my name out too business owners in the community and has been influential in the growth of my business.
