Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Vidrine.
Liz, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Before Loved and Found, I worked in the textile design industry for over a decade. I spent those years in New York and Los Angeles, designing bedding collections for iconic brands such as Martha Stewart, Michael Kors, and Laura Ashley.
Once my husband and I moved to Dallas, I decided it was time to take the leap and start the business I had been dreaming up since I knew I was burnt out from the textile industry. Over the next year, I studied web design and began sourcing and curating our first collection of gift boxes.
Now we are about three years in and are shipping thousands of boxes a year. We sell our pre-curated collections in our online shop which is constantly being updated (though our aesthetic has never changed!). We also serve businesses large and small across the US through curating custom gift boxes for their clients and employees. This year we even curated gifts for Facebook, Google, and LinkedIn!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has definitely not always been a smooth road. I think one of the most important pieces of advice is to just START. Even if it’s not perfect, just starting will make you start to learn what your business needs and does not need to succeed. I had a hard time putting myself out there because I thought my website or Instagram wasn’t “just right.” Once I launched, I was able to adjust my website and business model because of the real-time feedback I was getting from customers.

My business, Loved and Found is a boutique gifting studio that specializes in curated and custom gift boxes that tell a story through carefully selected products and wrapping details. Each gift box is packed by hand with extreme attention to detail. Alongside a sea of Amazon boxes, we hope that we can stand out as an option that puts the personal touch back into gift-giving.

What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
Learn from everyone and every experience. Tough lessons are the best lessons.
