Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Campbell and Stacy Houston.
Charles and Stacy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We were both involved in the youth basketball recruiting industry, Stacy was the director of an AAU team, DJH5, and produced several youth focused basketball events. I ran an NCAA certified scouting service and website devoted to boy’s high school basketball in the metroplex. We both had a desire to build a platform where influential people in the basketball industry shared their journeys, perspectives and experiences for the purpose of educating the basketball community.
We’re very similar but different in our opinions and life experiences, together we provide very unique voices to the podcast.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth? What is that? The road hasn’t been smooth but it definitely has been worth it. I know that’s cliche but its the truth. The major struggle for us has been finding the voice that collectively represents us both but also results in standing out in the sea of podcasting. We talk on the phone for hours about basketball and life and we decided to bring those conversations to the airwaves. The result has been an amazing amount of support from listeners all over the world.
Please tell us about On the Court Off the Court Podcast.
On the Court Off the Court is a podcast focused on authentic and thought-provoking conversations with guests from all over the basketball industry. We’re most proud of being authentic and adding value to the basketball community. Our show isn’t about just X’s and O’s but who our guests and their journey.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
We measure our success by impact. Producing authentic and impactful content is the most important quality for us. Educating our listeners and provoking them to thought is the most important aspect to our success.
