Romana, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been a registered nurse for 19 years and Nurse Executive for about 16 of those years. I focused my career on seniors and the continuum of care. About two years ago, I felt that I needed a change. One day after sitting in a medspa waiting room, I thought how wonderful it would be to do something aesthetics. I never felt it was a possibility. But a fateful conversation with my best friend also in this field I became intrigued. I was unable to get the notion out of my head for days, and after many courses and certifications in the area of Aesthetic Laser Technology and lots of support from my husband took the plunge in 2018.
SKIN Med Spa & Laser is definitely a labor of love. I wanted the experience to be so much more than a high-pressure sales pitch. I want my clients to be in a relaxed, judgment-free zone, where they can freely discuss treatment options. I envisioned a boutique spa with a steady, friendly and knowledgeable team so we could deliver consistency in treatments for our clients. We pride ourselves as a clean, comfortable and friendly environment with brand new state of the art equipment. The attitude of the spa is to work with the client to create a SKIN PLAN. All of the technicians are Professional Certified Laser Technicians, the highest level of training in Texas. I also team with Elizabeth Biermann, a respected Nurse Practitioner with years of experience in Botox, fillers and hormone replacement therapy.
We are proud to have Dr. Ben Tittle as OUR medical director. He is instrumental in setting our treatment plans and protocols. Being from highly regulated healthcare facilities, I am committed to following policy and procedures as mandated, to provide MY clients with safe effective treatments. We are proud of our relationships with our clients. We want all of our clients to know they can trust us to keep it real”. The team at SKIN understands that their clients have busy lives and often are unable to prioritize themselves. That is why when they do come, they make sure to make the most of their time by keeping wait times to a minimum. The team and I routinely call and follow up with our clients and get feedback. We also make sure that the client is never rushed during consultations and all questions are answered. At SKIN the clients speak with Nurses and Certified Aestheticians and Technicians NOT salesman.
Has it been a smooth road?
Owning and operating a highly competitive business is never smooth or easy. We have learned along the way how to streamline our process to make the experience so much more rewarding for clients. I feel that if you are committed to quality care with reasonable pricing, your reputation gets around.
We have been blessed in McKinney to have so many of our clients being our biggest form of advertisement. We don’t go for the short term sale, we are committed to being a trusted resource for our client in the long term. Sometimes that means we don’t get the big sale. But I know from client feedback that is why they choose to come back to us and why they recommend close friends and relatives.

We are a full-service medical spa. We offer Laser Hair Removal, Skin Rejuvenation, Customized facials, Peels, Microneedling, Hydro facials, RF Skin Resurfacing, Skin Tightening, Botox, Fillers and PDO Thread Lifts.
I believe what sets us apart is our SKIN Plan. We start out clients out with a free nurse consultation. This is where we get to know our clients, what their concerns are and what their skin goals are. It is here we can discuss in as much detail as they need what each treatment is and what we recommend for them, We also are able to take into account things like special events, budgets etc.
We are most proud of our relationships with our clients. With our staff being consistent we are able to give our clients a personal experience. They know the techs, nurses, and office staff by name. We make sure scheduling and cancelling appointments are hassle-free and are able to accommodate last min changes. We specialize in treating women of all colors. Our Techs understand the individual needs of our clients and can customize treatments based on skin type and needs.
