Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Beat.
Amanda, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Goodness, where do I even begin my story, LOL?!!?!! Well, I guess I go all the way back to where I can remember, which, would be in Omaha, NE. I was probably in 6th grade getting ready to go into the 7th grade (ever dreaded Middle School) and my parents told me we had to move to Glenwood, IA because they wanted to keep me out of trouble in the big city and wanted a new house and a bunch of “other crap” (or so I thought), so moving to this “little” town would be good for everyone (ummmm except for ME, DUH, what were they thinking, I was going into Middle School and didn’t know a single sole).
I was devastated, angry and mad at my parents for moving me 30 mins across the bridge (LOL) to this tiny town (population 6,000 people) where I had to go to this small town Middle School, which was smack dab in the middle of a Disability State Hospital where a lot of residents lived (it was scary and old). It was literally INSANE at that school and it was old and smelly and everyone was small town and not into the new chick from the “big city” who didn’t know anyone and looked “pretty, snobby & rich”. I was the new kid in the first year of middle school while all my friends were going into 7th grade with each other, I was stuck being the new kid in a tiny, cliquey small-town middle school. It was awful, horrible and just plain evil (or so I thought and acted out because of). All the boys “flirted” with me (of course because fresh meat to them) and all the girls tried to fight me, bully me or be friends with me just to then not be friends with me, it was honestly horrible. All of these people had been friends since Kindergarten and I had not, so they basically never included me and although I understood it, It still hurt my feelings. I did however, make one honest best friend, who has stuck with me since 7th grade, Michelle P. She is my ROCK and she is awesome. She still to this very day calls, texts and comes to visit a couple times a year and same with me to her. She is an amazing human, who keeps me sane.
After proving myself and gaining acceptance or so I thought in High School, I had a bunch friends and ended up being the cool kid that everyone wanted to come over and hang out with (or party with). Which was probably because we lived on a few acres of land and my dad always has “toys,” like, ATV’s, dirt bikes, boats, motorcycles, three wheeler s, golf carts, AWESOME CLASSIC CARS, you name it really, plus we always had a bunch of gaming systems, arcade games and people at our house, so it was always a great time!!! Then I started dating the “cool/popular guy” (the cute boy that every girl fought over, whom I also had a mad crush on since moving there), who ended up being a VERY bad person to me and totally ruined my self-esteem, self-love and overall self-being. He crushed me, everything about me he ruined. I felt like I was defeated and like a P.O.S!! Everyone thought this person was the best at everything, best looking, SO incredibly nice, well spoken and would never do any of these things. How could I even say these things about what was happening for all those years? No way he would do that stuff? He did, people! I lived it for almost 8 years. I guess what they also do not realize is that this person was an alcoholic, user, abuser and manipulator, narcissist and I had enough and I gained my confidence and left. I was completely abused for 8 years and people to this day still don’t believe it.
After eight years of pure hell, I finally decided enough is enough and gathered the strength to leave. It was rough. I was lost and trying to find myself. I ended up becoming what I think was my version of an alcoholic and going down the wrong path of partying and working and shopping. It was not my path so I made a huge decision to leave everything I knew and moved to Springfield, MO where I decided to go to Missouri State University to finish my Bachelor’s degree and become a Pharmacist. That plan was changed about 4 months after moving to Springfield when I met a man named Noah Beat. I believe god sent him to me to save me. He saved me from myself since I was on a path of self-destruction. I wanted to party, meet new people and that is about it. My drinking was out of control and my body was suffering. He saved me. We met through friends at the time and he fell in love with me at first sight. I am guarded so it took me a bit longer, but we were married about a year and a half later and had our first child Jaxson 2 years after meeting for the first time.
We now have two children together, Jaxson and Ainslee and share a child (Dylan), from his first marriage he was briefly in. ALL 3 children are MY children and each mean the entire WORLD to me, there is nothing I will not do for them and everything I do is for them. It is super funny how a person (YES, this was me) can grow up saying I never want kids and then is able to have kids and it completely changes your entire life for the best. I cannot believe I ever said I never wanted children and my amazing mother reminds me of this often. The relationship my parents have with our children is amazing, they are able to stay the night with them all the time, go to dinner, go to school events and everything else. I watch them read to each other and color and work on cars, and it melts my heart. Grandparent, grandchild relationships are so important since we only get so much time with people we love.
Noah and I moved to Fort Worth TX in 2009 for a change of pace, a bigger city for our careers and a good place to raise our new family. Since I had previously graduated with my Bachelors, I decided to take a couple of years off to be a stay at home mom with my new baby boy and young stepson. Soon after moving here (I mean about 4 months), my daughter decided she needed to join the family and made her way into this world in January 2010. My career of being a stay at home mom with all three children was short-lived however. God created Amanda to be around adults, help others, connect others and sell insurance. LOL! I made a solid run at being a stay at home mommy for almost 2 years before meeting a local Allstate Agency owner and deciding to go part-time for her agency about seven years. I worked part-time for about a year before full time and switching to sales since it came so naturally and I was really doing great.
Within no time, I was killing it and getting so many referrals from clients, loan officers and realtors. Next thing I knew, I was known as the Flood pro, then the Commercial guru, then the Business insurance specialist, then I became Office Manager and Team Lead and even had talks with the agency owners about purchasing one of the agencies (she had 3 locations at that time). I decided about six years in that I wanted to work from home and give up the Manager/Team Lead position since things were going so good and I was making a bunch I thought all was great. All was good, until one day when I received a call from the owner of the agency asking me for a one on one in office meeting (which is usually not good). I went in the next day and she told me I was being fired for no reason, but one day I would understand. I was in total and complete shock. I went into a really bad depression and could not believe what happened. This was the first time I had ever been fired from anything!!! What?? This agent had promised me one of her agencies, we were friends, we talked and I was the manager. Nope, none of that mattered. She did not care about any of it. I had never been wrote up or anything. Was an exemplary employee, always went above and beyond. Always met or exceeded goal, you name it. It felt like my heart was ripped out. Nothing made sense anymore.
About two days later I got a call from an independent agent with Goosehead Insurance who wanted me to come and work for him, so I decided to hear him out and jump back on the horse (although this horse is completely different). I went from Allstate (Captive insurance) to Goosehead (Independent insurance) which are two totally different worlds. I was excited and pumped back up. I kicked butt at that for about 5 and a half months before that agent did the exact same thing!!!! NO joke…he was a creeper and I was glad to leave because that company was NOT the right fit for me at all!!! I had a meeting set up with the agency owner of Corin Insurance Group, LLC a couple days after that and worked with them for a little over two years. I learned a lot working at Corin Insurance Group, and would definitely not be where I am today without hustling my butt off as much as I did with them, but that ended due to the agent never communicating with me and it was time for me to go out on my own. I am beyond happy to announce that I am an official agency owner of BEAT INSURANCE SERVICES, LLC. We opened our doors January 2020 and I hope everyone taking the time to read this will help me out and support me!!
Being an official independent insurance agency owner, I really couldn’t be more proud, excited, nervous, scared and happy than I am at this very moment, but can I tell you all something. IT WAS ALL WORTH IT. IT WILL BE WORTH. I AM WORTH IT. YOU ARE ALL WORTH IT. So do not ever let anyone break you down, tell you are not worth it, treat you as you are not worth it. There are SO many people I have met along the way that have tried to break me, but I keep on. I will not allow them to stop me. I will not allow others to break me down anymore. I am Amanda, I am enough, I am blessed. I have dreamed of this for so many years, you guys, and it is here and real!!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
NO!!! It absolutely has not been a smooth road. It has been bumpy, smooth, curvy, twisty and all over the place. I always dreamed, thought, knew, intended, had goals of becoming a business owner. I never was quite sure of what business, until I got into property and casualty insurance and I knew right away. It just comes naturally to me. Something I feel like I have known about for years and I love to do and to talking about. I wake up wanting to do it. Excited to do it, talk about it, help protect people, see if I can save some money, see if I can get someone a better policy. All of it is FUN to me and I honestly love it.
I love to protect their homes, autos, businesses, events, boats, lives and so on because if I am not, then that means some joker (sorry, not sorry) is out there selling them on price, or some policy that doesn’t have the coverage’s they need or is lying to them just to get them to sign up and just to get a commission check for themselves. They are not selling them on what they truly NEED and I hate that for my clients and everyone really, I really do. I want everyone to be covered so when that horrific day comes (we pray doesn’t of course), you are 100% protected and do not need to call me upset and say “Amanda, I thought I had this coverage,” or “Amanda, you said I had enough to cover this accident,” and you can just call the carrier to make a claim to get everything fixed like you should be able to do (and are able to do with me).
I have been hurt many times along the way and have failed many times along the way (and this is going to continue to happen, we are all human). Being fired from a few places where I was really kicking butt and taking names, hurts, deeply! It really scars you and makes you depressed, but you have to get back up!! You cannot let anyone besides yourself determine your fate. Keep fighting and pushing through always, there is never another option! On the road to success, I had the rug pulled right out under me and thought, wow, what now? This literally happened last week… BUT, I never let any of those times get me down for long. I get right back up, dust myself off and DO BETTER. DO MORE. JUST DO YOU! The true key to success is always remaining true to yourself, hustle hard everyday, stay humble and kind, connect with those whom you know, like and trust, always!!!
Someone you know, who will get you the right policy, someone you like to get you the right coverage’s and someone you trust to get you and your family the correct rates. The reason this is so rare is because most insurance salespeople nowadays are selling on price alone and no one benefits from that, no one.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Beat Insurance Services – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

A couple of things that set Beat Insurance Services apart from those “other guys” are that we are in the business of helping people. We love giving back to the community, love to donate our time to organizations we hold near and dear to our hearts and love to network and help other groups flourish. It is truly my passion to help people come together and grow. I am also a firm believer of growing since growing is key to success, every single day!!
Bringing people together and connecting people is a true passion of mine, which brings me to my other love, NFW Networking.
NFW Networking was created in 2017 by yours truly, to bring together ALL industries of business professionals together to network, communicate, establish friendships and be a positive influence on others. In 2019, my sweet friend, Carrie with Hidden Door Spa and I decided to join forces and we have been unstoppable ever since. We have SO many amazing networking events current going on every month to bring people together and more that are upcoming so please, everyone follow me, like my pages, events and posts on Facebook to learn more about all of these amazing events we host. We do monthly networking events, quarterly, annually and pop up events. We also host a Monthly Women’s ONLY Luncheon called Glitz, Glam & Grub, a Sip & Shop in November-December (before Christmas, so everyone can get their Christmas shopping done) and are planning an event with SOAH (Spirit of A Hero, an amazing Veteran non-profit Organization I absolutely love) to do a Classic Car & Motorcycle Show!! I am telling you, these events bring a lot of wonderful people and are an absolute blast, so you can see why I say…I AM BLESSED!!!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I have SO many plans for the future. Growth, expansion, hiring new team members, expanding networking and always spending more time with my family. I also hope to have a storefront or two and travel more. My goals, plans and dreams are usually set in five-year increments since they seem more attainable when I set them that way (could be in my head, but it has seemed to work thus far, so I’m going with it).
My goal for Beat Insurance Services in five years would be that we have at least two full-time service people and 2 full-time commission only insurance agents. I would also hope to have a small adorable store front office by then, business thriving and I will be ready to purchase another agent’s book of business that they will be either retiring from or selling because they are tired of it. Insurance is a very hard industry to work in, it definitely has its ups and downs and takes that special person, but I am that special person and absolutely love it. Which is also why my goals and plan do not stop at 5, Ten, or even 15 years down the road, I plan to be running the business until I am no longer able and one of my children take it over or they sell it to someone else who wants it. The reason I decided this a long time ago, was because my daughter at 3 years old would “work” with me at Allstate and pretend she was working at Allstate answering her phone and say “Hello, Thank you for calling Allstake Insurance,” from that moment on, I knew I would have an insurance agency that I owned and I would pass along to them and they could make me just as proud of the company as I was to start it!!!!
