Today we’d like to introduce you to Maridel Salomon and Maria Posner.
Savor is the dream of a family of immigrants. Maridel, the mom, came from Venezuela seven years ago after parting ways with her renowned restaurant and reception hall in her hometown of Valencia. Chef and foodie by trade and Engineer by profession, Maridel’s passion for food have been part of her life and her family dynamics forever.
Coming from a very diverse family, a father with a Palestinian background and a mother from the Canarian Islands, food was the center of her childhood and later in life she married into a seudo Jewish family were more flavors and traditions invaded her palate. Her daughter and son in law, Maria and Alfredo dreamed of continuing the legacy by creating a catering company where the food their children and family enjoy daily could be shared with many others, helping them create memories they will cherish forever.
The three of them share a love for food and travel that has influenced their menus and the way they approach food in general. From the comfort food of the South to exquisite French cuisine, Savor offers a wide variety of cooking to satisfy everyone’s palate making sure the food not only tastes amazing but it looks great too.
It is never easy to start something from scratch. For us it was the fear of failure, and trying to understand what the market demands. After careful consideration, hearing from our friends and family, as well as, people with experience in the industry; Savor Catering Services was born. Getting a handle of the rules and regulations was a challenge too, but overall we can say that staring a business in America, is way easier than in other countries.
As caterers, our passion is to help our clients not only enjoy a delicious food experience, but also to be able to sit back, relax, and enjoy hosting their event. Letting us take care of the food portion of the event. We work with our customer to help them achieve their vision of the occasion. We talk about the creative aspect of the plates, their presentation, the combination of flavors and textures, etc. We help bring to life our customer’s vision when it relates to the food.
Definitely listening to our customers. To really hear what it is that they are trying to say. We work with them to hear their vision for the event, in order to create a menu that fits their taste, budget and style. In addition, there is no replacement for hard work, patience, and consistency. Being able to see projects mid and long term, is essential to make wise decisions, that will step by step take you where you want to be.
