Meet Aisha Hardin of HardinBeauty in Frisco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aisha Hardin.

Aisha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started as a self taught lash tech, I later went to school to become certified/ Licensed. At the time, my only goal was to do lashes. A few years before I started doing extensions, I wanted to sell lash strips but had no clue where to start with that. At the time of working on my technique and the art of lashing, I wanted to start a line of lash products of my own.

I started doing my research and realized that it would cost a pretty penny. I later got a 2nd job to provide the funding. As I ordered and tested many samples of different products, I found what I liked and started using them on my current clients to see what type of feedback I would get. Later I started promoting my products. Through word of mouth and social media, my clientele grew and product sales started to flow.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, This has not been smooth for me at all. My biggest challenge has been trying to balance it all…. Being a mom, working two jobs, and serving my clients. I had to make many sacrifices.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
HardinBeauty provides lash extension services and we sell lash products. I am most known for my lash extensions but I plan to change that soon and have my products be what I am most known for. Our lash service is in the shop and/or Mobil.

What were you like growing up?
I come from a big family, and my mom is 1 of 13 kids (yes, that’s a lot, I know) lol all by the same mom and dad. So as you can imagine, growing up for me was challenging at times. We didn’t always get what we wanted, but we had what was needed. LOVE is what my family was raised in, not wealth. As the baby of my mom’s four children, I was a bit bratty and just a tiny bit spoiled lol. But my mom and sister made sure I knew what hard work was.

A number of the women in my family are hairstylists, but that was never my interest… I liked all things beauty meaning — brows, eyelashes, hair, a good lipstick, etc.

The thought of lashes made me happy, and I felt they made my eyes stand out. So the reaction of my very first client made me feel like I won the lottery lol. She told me she felt alive and noticeable. That was enough to make me go all in.
