Meet Alexis Brown of Lex A’llure Cosmetics & Designs in North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Brown.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Alexis. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started building my brand back in 2017 when I discovered my gift of sewing & designing. I released a clothing line & as time went on my brand had become really popular, I was featured in a lot of different news outlets & blogs; Good Morning America & ABC News for instance. I wanted to get deeper into the fashion & beauty industry so from there I started attending cosmetology school so I could get my hands in the hair business as well, halfway through cosmetology school I launched my own vegan & cruelty-free cosmetics line “Lex A’llure Cosmetics” a makeup brand that caters to every skin-tone & type.

It’s so many different ventures that I want to take & markets that I want to tap into. This is just the very beginning & Lex A’llure isn’t just a company name, it’s my identity. My overall goal is to show others that you can achieve & obtain anything you put your mind to, no matter where you started, no matter what you have, no matter how many times you fail, no matter who supports or believes in you. The only person who can write out your story is you. We all have a purpose, you just have to be open to finding or even making yours.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not at all, just like anything worth working towards, there were plenty of obstacles. For one I had a newborn at the time I first started, plus I was working, and on top of that I didn’t have much space, so I had to work all day, come home to a newborn and still find time to perfect my craft, make a social media presence, & keep things tidy around the house because sewing gets really messy.

The bigger obstacles came once I released my clothing line, due to constantly going viral, I was getting so many orders that I had to fulfill, and I would be doing it all alone, from going to buy the fabrics, to measuring & cutting, to the stitching & packaging, to going to ship it off at the post office and handling customer service while also taking care of a little baby, it was a lot and once I started cosmetology school plus a cosmetics line, it became even more but it was all worth it. Working past all the challenges and obstacles leaves me with major satisfaction, because I knew I really loved the things I was doing, and it showed through all of my hard work.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lex A’llure Cosmetics & Designs – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The brand Lex A’llure includes clothing designs, handcrafted cosmetics, and hair artistry, I love & put my all into every last thing I service or provide. I’m most proud on the impact that my brand leaves with others, I get messages every day of people telling me how much I motivate and inspire them, they send me photos of their work, they ask me for advice, they tell me how much they receive inspiration from my transparency, and realness about my process with every venture I take.

I let others know that I am not perfect, and I too struggle with things, but despite the things that I struggle with, I still dictate what my future holds, and I still believe that I can make anything happen & work with any situation I’m put into. So if anything, I would say that I specialize in making something out of nothing… turning bad into great, sparking light in the dark. Regardless of what I go through I go into it knowing that even if I’m not in control of the situation, I’m in control of my reaction and my perspective. Every obstacle that comes my way, I view it as a learning experience not just for business growth but for personal growth as well because I’m not in this just for the money, I’m here to make a difference on this earth & fulfill my life purpose.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
In the future, I see myself owning a worldwide brand. I see myself having an establishment that includes clothing, hair services, makeup services/products, along with a photography studio, all in one building, so people could come and get a full makeover, whether it’s for a special event or just a wanting something new, I would also love to incorporate a spiritual healing program somewhere into my plans because I don’t just want to just focus on the beauty that’s displayed on the outside when the inside matters just as much.
