Meet Danielle Wheeler of Sofia Video Production in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Wheeler.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Danielle . So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started in front of the camera. I have been acting for over 15 years and love it. However, as any actor will tell you, there is never enough work, which is why I started producing my own content. Through that process, I learned that I loved producing as well. It’s a weird mix to be able to be both creative and organized, but it definitely comes in handy in the production world. I have since produced a feature film, countless shorts, commercials, and corporate videos.

Like so many things in this industry, one thing leads to another, and two years ago, I found myself with an opportunity to start my own production company. The idea of growing a business while doing what I love excited me, thus Sofia Video Production was born.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The film world is extremely competitive and can be disheartening if you have the wrong focus. To that end, I am thankful I started as an actor in the business. Actors deal with rejection every day. I had to learn to cope with being told “no” all the time, get past fear of failure, and keep improving myself and putting myself out there. As a producer, that translates to determination and perseverance. Every project brings new challenges. I have been producing and directing full time for a while now, and every project comes with something new or an obstacle I’ve never encountered before. As a producer, I have to constantly grow, learn, and adapt.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Sofia Video Production – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Sofia Video Production is a full-service video production house servicing all the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and beyond. While we specialize in marketing videos and commercials, we are also becoming known for non-profits videos. Sofia Video loves producing emotional and powerful content that brings awareness and growth for organizations that help the community.

There are so many great production companies out there, many of them are friends of mine, but I believe the top two things that set Sofia Video apart are:

1) The partnership we create with our clients. We take the time to understand you, your vision, and your needs to take something that is intimidating (video marketing/digital story-telling) and make it a tangible reality for you.
2) And our partnership with our onsite sister company, Sofia Marketing. Because we work hand-in-hand with Sofia Marketing, we have expertise in new video marketing trends and can point you in the right direction after your project is done. We address the “now what” question that almost every client has. Our Marketing Team will be happy to give you a free consultation about where to post your video and how to use it to target your respective audience.

I am most proud that Sofia Video exists. In fact, ever since I started the company, I have major respect for any business owner and entrepreneur. Starting and growing a business is insanely difficult so the fact that we are here and growing every year is an accomplishment.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck. But I do recognize when I have been blessed. One of the biggest blessings that fell in my lap is my business partner, Jim. He is a successful entrepreneur and was the one who approached me about producing videos for Sofia Marketing. The notion of creating a separate video production company hatched during one of our first meetings, and we have charged forward into the great unknown ever since. So in that light, I do feel lucky to have an experienced business partner willing to travel this road with me.
