Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Knight.
Chris, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2019 I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, which is a type of blood cancer. At the beginning of my treatments, I discovered the enormous cost associated with cancer and it caused me to wonder how people could afford it. Through my journey, it was on my heart to help take some of the financial burdens away from those diagnosed with this terrible disease. I created the Guardian Knight Cancer Foundation with some help from my family and friends. It is so rewarding to lend a hand to those in need, especially at such a difficult time in their life.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the biggest challenges I faced in forming the foundation was battling my own patience and understanding that I had to get through my own battle before I could really help someone else. It was difficult for me to watch someone in their struggle even when I was in one myself.
We’d love to hear more about your organization.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that was created financial needs directly to cancer patients. I am so proud that we are able to take some of the burdens away from people. Unless someone has been through the battle, it’s hard to understand the immense pressure that you are under. I love the fact that we can be there for someone in a time of need.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I wouldn’t say that luck has anything to do with my situation. I feel like I was led to do this. I believe that there is a purpose behind everything. This purpose is much bigger than me. I’m only the middle man that is here to fulfill it.
