Meet Tamera Foreman of TamBam in Lancaster

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamera Foreman.

Tamera, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, I was a timid and shy little girl with low self-esteem. I was always taller and larger than the other children in the class. Not realizing I was the most beautiful, smart, caring little girl, and I would one day grow into the confident, courageous, and nurturing woman that I am today. I decided that it was time for me to show up for myself and others like me, to show that change is possible to anyone that desires it. I began my journey as TamBam (tambamthemodel) in 2017. I was introduced to runway and editorial model training. I was chosen to do a radio show interview with iviberadio, which was very exciting for me and things just up from there. I am currently a model for a great movement called My BIG is Beautiful (MBIB), an organization to help build more opportunities for our plus size community and help build confidence and self-esteem.

Today’s society portrays this “perfect image” of how a person should look on the outside but doesn’t tell you that how you feel on the inside also plays a part in your image. I love my body. I love fashion and women of all color shapes and sizes. I believe that diversity is what makes the world beautiful. We should all embrace who we are and learn to change only the things you need to become a better version of yourself.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes, there have been struggles along the way, as with anything in life is not always easy. The most challenging part is going to a model call, and your not sure if the judges are going to select a plus-size model. Or when you are going for a photoshoot and the photographer is interacting more with the petite model instead. My solution to that is to put my best foot forward and kill them with kindness.

Please tell us about your work.
What sets me apart from other models is my motto: Live, laugh, love. I eat, sleep, and breathe those words. I decided to no longer live like the victim but instead act like a superhero. For women who need encouragement and finding self-love.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I am the person in the room that gets along with everyone, I feel that I bring ease to any situation and always look at the bright side. I feel that life is what you make it, and that is my motivation to keep pushing for more.
