Today we’d like to introduce you to Orlando Hopson.
Orlando, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In Cleveland where I am originally from I lived in an underprivileged and underserved community. One of the needs I seen was tutoring and mentoring for kids so at 15 years old, I started M.A.G.I.C (Making.A.Generation.Improve.& Change) which was a tutoring and mentoring service. After that at 19 when I moved to Dallas, TX I started Hopson Helps which is Business Consulting and Public Speaking. I went to Baldwin Wallace University where I Double Majored in International Business, Innovation & Entrepreneurship. The reason I started Hopson Helps is similar to why I started M.A.G.I.C which was people in my community and people who looked like me didn’t have access to Business Consultants as easy as our counterparts. God, My Father, My Family, My Friends, and My Beautiful Queen Dominique their unwavering love, support and pushing me is how I got to where I am today.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth, Not at all. My first obstacle was I was usually the youngest in the room, second was my mother leaving me at very pivotal time in my life, three was living in an underprivileged and underserved community, lastly was sometimes not believing in myself. But with God and the people around I was able to push through all of that adversity.

My favorite childhood memory is my brother starting his clothing line “Cardinal Cloth” because it showed me I didn’t have to work for someone I could be my own boss.
