Meet Prince Whiting IV

Today we’d like to introduce you to Prince Whiting IV.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Prince. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My sales experience began with my previous work as an Insurance Agent for over nine years. I learned the true methodology of sales. Instead of paying for leads, cold calling and waiting for my phone to ring, which is what many “sales people” do, I used strategic techniques to drive my business. I built my book of business and grew my sphere of influence by sponsoring community events, partnering with lenders, realtors, car dealerships and companies throughout DFW. I observed the Realtors I partnered with over my nine years in the insurance and learned the techniques that worked and those that didn’t. I studied top agents in the market and took part in those strategies to implement them into my line of work. When I made the transition into Real Estate, I knew that I was born to do this. I am here because Real Estate is my calling. It is so much more than a job for me. Ask about me through my references and you’ll see why I supersede those that have been in this industry much longer than me.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! As with any business, it truly takes about three years to see a profit. 92% of real estate agents quit in their first year. People think this real estate industry is so easy and a month in receive a rude awakening. I recall my first two months, I won several awards for most appointments and contracts and only one out of 4 of those deals executed. I remember in my second month. I was working on a $1.7M deal. My buyer offered $1.55M cash as an initial offer to set the bar and unfortunately, the listing agent wasn’t a solid professional and screwed up the deal. This happens all the time. You can have a deal in your hand and lose it at any moment, up until the day of closing. This business is not for the faint. Not many can handle so much rejection and disappointment. Nevertheless, it is a fruitful profession for those that can weather the storm.

Please tell us about your business.
We set out to disrupt the traditional brokerage model of Real Estate by adopting strategies that are outside of the cookie cutter tactics indicative of the industry. Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Authenticity! I’ve learned this at the age of 17 in my first sales role. Your clients do business with you because they like you and most importantly, trust you. You are the business! Also, remember everyone will not like you and that’s fine. Control the things you can and don’t sweat over those that you can’t. That’s my advice.
