Today we’d like to introduce you to Camille Foreman.
Camille, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I moved to Dallas in 2011 and as a Dallas transplant, I always thought that it would be great to have a Dallas road map for all ages. Recently, I became a new mom and felt quite isolated during my first year postpartum. When I was finally able to venture out again, I toyed with posting to my social platforms. I received great feedback and a lot of questions from my audience about places I went to eat, museum exhibits, small businesses I support and my style. It prompted me to launch my blog that hosts information for the everyday person who is new to Dallas or someone who wants to explore more, find new businesses to try and how to find fashion, street wear and sneaker gems in the city.
Has it been a smooth road?
As a new mom, getting started was my biggest struggle. Between juggling an infant and suffering from postpartum depression, I found myself procrastinating and having imposter syndrome. It took a lot of courage and support from my partner to finally step out on faith and launch my blog and advertising website. It required me to be present on the scene. It has not been easy, I’ve sacrificed time with family to scout new restaurants, venues and small business openings. It also requires meticulous calendar planning as well as a team that is ready to shoot on the drop of a dime. Outside of photographers, I’m sure that my partner feels drained at times, helping me capture content.
Please tell us about your work.
I am a blogger advertiser and digital content creator focusing on lifestyle, motherhood, art, fashion and food. My focus is on being in the know of new exhibits, festivals, restaurants, coffee shops, small businesses and more that are opening up in Dallas and the various cities that I venture to. I work with brands geared towards working and entrepreneurial millennials that are new to the city to give a road map of places to be and things to see as well as new products to try. I like to capture content from my point of view that showcases information viewers and subscribers alike will continue to be intrigued by, engaged in and to encourage them to continue to explore new things.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
What I love the most about Dallas is that there is such a wide variety of things to offer. Dallas has offerings for all walks of life and everyone can find something to indulge in. You have to know where to find it and I’m here to help with that. From finding the perfect event, restaurant or latest sneaker release, I can pinpoint anyone to it. My least favorite thing about Dallas would be tragic. It makes navigating events difficult at times, and what mom walks out of the door with enough time on their hands?
