Meet Brandon Gomez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Gomez.

Brandon, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.

My story started in 1997 in El Paso, TX where I was the youngest of four. I was raised with my two brothers and sister and lived there for 18 years. Upon graduation from Montwood High School, I made a move to the beautiful and thriving Dallas, TX. I enrolled at the University of North Texas and pursued my BBA in Marketing With a Concentration in Professional Selling. Since my college graduation in 2018, I have been putting my degree to use at a local telecom company helping execute their brand voice through digital marketing.I spend my free time at the gym working on my fitness, exploring the city, and enjoying time with loved ones. Whether this is at a local restaurant, a living room, or out hitting the town, I value any time spent together with friends and family.

I was taught early on the values of cherishing family, life, and love. I also learned the importance of developing a good work ethic through involvement in school career programs and customer service jobs. A big part of my story is motivated by the love I have for my family and friends. Being able to give back and provide for them gives me joy. I am thankful for my ability to live in a thriving metroplex and for every person who has touched my life and taught me different lessons. What brings me happiness in life is to be able to return the favor and continue the gift of teaching to all those whom I may come across.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Life has definitely had its struggles in different parts of my life. I’m thankful for the lessons that I have been taught from dealing with different experiences and how to adapt to change.

A struggle that sticks out to me is when my father lost his job when I was 16. Life completely flipped for my family and myself. We had to sell our house we had lived in our whole lives and move away from home for my dad to find work. I decided to stay with my grandparents in El Paso, TX and finish high school. My parents ended up moving away to Dallas at the time. At first, it seemed like an easy decision to stay behind. But, living without my family definitely pushed my limits more than I could have imagined. It taught me to grow up quickly, stand my ground, and find answers where there may not seem like there are any. It also taught me how life can change at any given moment and to always be present with those you love.

Life is always moving, and being able to adapt to it is an art to always keep polished.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Professionally, I found my true passion is in digital marketing, specifically in using a digital presence to empower a brand’s voice. Currently, I am a marketing and content strategist for a telecom company in the DFW metroplex. I spend my days building digital campaigns like social posts, recruiting videos, landing pages, and more. I specialize in content writing and in leading a creative direction in digital campaigns. By working with my creative team, I can play in part in building out successful campaigns. Being early into my digital marketing career, I am proud to be in a role where I can exercise my passion for branding. As a team member, I feel my ability to collaborate with any team and be able to fulfill the goals of my plans, sets me apart as a worker.

In the future, I will solidify a real strength in the digital marketing realm. With that, I plan to build out a list of services I can provide to help other emerging businesses build their brand voices.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have been lucky enough to know amazing mentors and supporters throughout my life.

My brother, Isaac, has played an enormous role in my personal development. He taught me the importance of family, being a rational decision-maker, and, most recently, how to manage my finances. In any stage of life, my brother has always made an effort to watch out for my future and help build my character. I am thankful for his big heart and involvement in my life.

Professionally, I had a close connection with my career development teacher in high school, Ms. Arellano, who taught our class the principles of business. She taught us workplace etiquette, how to confront conflict, and even learning our rights in the workplace. In addition, the co-workers and customers I have encountered through my seven years in customer service have taught me lessons about how to relate with my community.

Truth be told, there are so many supporters and mentors in my life that I am incredibly thankful to have. I wish I could spend the time to thank every single one of them but that would take years to accomplish. Instead, I plan to return the impact they have had in my life through any way I can.
