Today we’d like to introduce you to LaToya Frazier.
LaToya, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My background is in Learning and Development and Project Management and Consulting. I worked for a fortune 500 company from 1998 to 2015. At the end of my career with the company, I was a Senior Project Manager managing the implementation of various training programs and services. By 2012 the company had gone through several organizational restructures over a short period of time and was going in a direction that I no longer saw myself a part of. It is a great company, I made a good salary, I grew personally and professionally, I had great benefits, I worked from home and I met many of my beautiful friends there.
However, the job fed my family but it no longer fed my soul. I started dealing with extreme anxiety and depression, weight gain and a host of other health issues. I decided that the only person who could change my situation was me. I had already been doing some freelancing on the side providing training and project management support so I decided to get serious about it. I combined my professional skill set in project management and consulting with my personal skill set in website design and social media management and created packages for my service offerings and launched my digital marketing agency, Frazier Business Solutions.
I set some goals that included an exit strategy from my job and continued to work everyday bringing my BEST as I had ALWAYS done while building my business on the side in the nooks and cranny of my day. Fast forward to 2015, I had finally built up enough confidence, clientele and revenue to leave my corporate job and work in my business full time and I have not looked back.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Here is what I will say about that. It has been the scariest and most fulfilling thing I have ever done in my life and I would not change it for anything in the world. There have been good times and bad but just like everything else in life, I pushed through. The main struggle I’ve faced is self doubt, wondering if I had done the right thing by leaving the comfort of my corporate career with a regular paycheck and benefits and wondering if people would actually pay me for my expertise.
Please tell us about your work.
I am a Project Manager and Digital Marketing Consultant. I help entrepreneurs and small business owners launch their programs online by using corporate strategies. I specialize in program launches such as e-learning and membership sites. I am most proud of being able to use my professional and personal experiences and skills to help others build businesses doing what they love. What sets me apart is that I have successfully launched programs in the corporate and online space and understand the differences and complexities that could impact a successful launch.
