Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddie Jay.
Eddie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Well me and Dany met back in middle school sixteen years ago. We immediately became excellent friends and started playing music. We both lived in El Paso, Texas and six years ago, we moved here to Dallas, Texas to do something with our music. We started writing and put a band together. We released our EP album “Out Of Line” started playing local shows and getting some recognition. Two years later in 2019, we released our first studio album, “Bring The Sound.”
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I wish! But no. When we moved to Dallas, Texas we didn’t know what to expect. We didn’t know anybody and it was hard for us to find the right people for our band. We moved to an apartment and got us some decent jobs to pay out rent and keep us going, but in the first two years, we struggle a bit.
We’d love to hear more about your music.
Our band “Serein” plays the best rock music here in Dallas, Texas, thats all I can say! Haha, we are a rock band out of Dallas, Texas we’ve been around since 2014 played a lot of shows with some great bands like Steve Harris of Iron Maiden, Buckcherry, LA Guns, Sebastian Bach, Blacktop Mojo, Enuff Z’Nuff, The Quireboys and more. I’m proud of where we at right now. We started from nothing to now being a kick-ass band opening for big rockstars.
What were you like growing up?
I always had a passion for music since I was four y/o. my dad is playing guitar around the house, my mom listening to 80’s music while cleaning the house. I remember going from Fort Worth to El Paso Tx when I was about eight y/o and my dad had this Guns N’ Roses cassette we put it on and the first song it plays was “Sweet Child o’ Mine” so of course months later he got me my first guitar. Always loved rock music. It runs in my blood.
