Meet Adrian Ramirez Jr of World Empowerment in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Ramirez Jr.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Adrian. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started a journey of creating since I was a kid, but it didn’t really become a reality until after I graduated high school and into college. It all started when I would make music with my friends who lived across the street from my campus and creating art together. As it usually does, our hobbies turned into passions and suddenly, we began taking it seriously. In the process, I was in charge of creating the flyers, designing the artwork, shooting/editing the music videos, shooting/editing all of our pictures and anything else that dealt in the designing area. That’s when I started expanding my services for free to other people and offering to do work to learn more in the field and meet more people with the same goals as me.

After years of free work, I was offered a full-time job as a graphic designer at a car wrap company in Waco, TX. There is where I learned from my boss on how to refine my design skills and apply it in a professional manner. Soon after is when I realized how much love and admiration I had for the design and video industry that I finally took the leap and started World Empowerment in 2016.

With a full-time design job and my business as a side hustle, this was the route I chose for the following years, leading into my move from Waco to Fort Worth. When I moved to a bigger city is when I started to get more business and meet more people in the same field as me. In 2019, my full-time job and I came to a crossroads where it led to my departure from my safety net of a job. With a new fiancée, bills to pay, business to run and debt to pay off, I was at another crossroads on my own: find another full-time job or invest fully into myself. So in the summer of 2019, my fiancée and I decided to do World Empowerment full time and take a leap of faith in myself and my business, now with a partner by my side.

Has it been a smooth road?
Thankfully, it has not been a smooth road to today. The obstacles we’ve had to face is truly the foundation on which our business sits on now. We’ve never been shy of pushing ourselves into new territories and challenging ourselves creatively while relying on those risks to pay us financially. Those leaps we’ve taken are what adds character to our business and what connects us to our community.

The process of an entrepreneur is always met with not only financial challenges but also mental ones. I’ve been used to having a full-time job with the stability of a weekly paycheck since I moved out and the idea of not having that to fall back on anymore has been one of the hardest obstacles to overcome mentally. Thankfully with the full support of my fiancée, family and friends, the process has been led with them by my side taking each step with me.

We’ve been immensely blessed with amazing clients and other incomparable creatives who’ve never hesitated to help or support our journey to where we are today. It’s been the driving force that has kept us not only steady but striving since our inception of the business in 2016.

World Empowerment – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
World Empowerment is a media company based out of Fort Worth, TX. We specialize in video production and branding graphic design ranging from small businesses to professional sports teams. We’ve spent the last few years refining our target audience and creating a business model that will work well for us financially and creatively. We never wanted to be a company that “did it all” but also didn’t want to limit ourselves on what type of work we can add our creative approach to.

To compromise, what we do with each client is start each briefing with a layer of transparency letting them know our style and what type of end result can be expected from us. We then try and find a level of balance that shows them what our abilities are and what our process is compared to what vision they have and where they look to be at the end of the project. If that fits with the end result they are wanting. Then we move forward. If not, we don’t. This allows us to stay consistent with the quality of work we produce and not take on projects that force us out of our scope.

Additionally, we have a sister company, World Weddings, that was branched out and branded due to our success in the wedding industry. World Weddings provides top quality wedding videos at an affordable price to brides of all budgets and backgrounds. With both businesses, we believe what sets us apart from others is our inclusion of what we learn when we travel. We not only pull inspiration from locals in our community but from other people all over the world– hence our name World Empowerment & World Weddings. Every aspect of our brand pays homage to our first passion of traveling and we use that to drive our business moving forward.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The video and design industry changes rapidly. More and more creatives are coming out into the field, especially with gear becoming more affordable and attainable to the general public. We understand the changes that are happening and are prepared to take on this growing industry and adapt to the market as it evolves.

Our goal in the next 5-10 years is to collaborate with the new generation of creators and build World Empowerment with them instead of wanting to go against them. We plan to continue providing relevant and fresh content that keeps our traditions we’ve built from the start as the core but never rejecting future trends and waves that will keep us immersed in the industry.
