Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Sheree’.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Angela. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Sure! My name is Angela, but I go by Angela Sheree,’ and I have been podcasting for almost a year now! This podcasting journey started as just a thought years ago, but it took me a long time to actually go for it because I allowed fear to hold me back! However, when I had the thought to jump onto podcasting I started with putting myself out there by recording short videos and posting them to social media. These videos would chronicle personal, yet relatable life issues that I was dealing with and people always really seemed to enjoy it, so it became a thing for a while, Until, I decided to try my chance at blogging! Again, I would share very in-depth struggles of life and people were always encouraged and inspired by it and wanted more! So, after successfully trying both of those different avenues and ridding myself of fear, I finally decided to take it to the airwaves, where I could reach a larger audience much quicker. I have been able to help me so many people by sharing my own personal struggles and life experiences just by talking about them. It has also helped me as well to heal from some things and shed light on some really dark places.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It most definitely has not been a smooth road! When I started podcasting, I had NO CLUE what I was doing! All I knew is that I wanted my voice to be heard and I wanted to help others. I wasn’t sure on where to start, if anyone would listen, or if I would be successful. In the beginning, it was very bumpy. The sound quality was trash, I had no real format, and my guests were my friends! But, I kept going!
Sometimes I felt like I was in over my head and wanted to give up, especially when it felt like I was putting in so much work with little to no support. But eventually, I found my footing and was able to perfect all of those things. I had to remind myself like I hope to remind those reading this, that when you start something new or set out to complete a goal, you’re not promised that it will be easy, but it is always worth it! I have completed my first season of episodes and we’re only a few episodes into season two and it has already has been better than ever!
The Ever Evolving Podcast – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am Host and Creator of The Ever Evolving Podcast, which explores REAL LIFE challenges that keep us learning and evolving! Every episode, I seek to bring a fresh new perspective on things that most people shy away from! Everything from Love, Life Lessons, Friendships, Advice, Life hacks, and MUCH MORE! I am proud that I do all of this as an AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN! I have no co-host, no team, it’s all me and my guests and we make it happen! I’m truly proud that my vision to help others has come to fruition. The main thing that sets my podcast apart from others is the motto, “We cannot heal what we hide, so let’s talk about it.” There’s a purpose behind this podcast and that is what keeps it going.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Tenacity! You have to be determined and you MUST persevere! The road to success is a winding one, with many road bumps and detours, but in order to reach the final destination, YOU CAN’T GIVE UP! You have to fortify yourself for the journey. There will be many times that you’ll want to quit, but you will have to dig your heels in and keep pushing every time! You’ll look back once you garner the success you went after and be glad that you stuck with it!
