Today we’d like to introduce you to Terry Lockhart.
Terry, before we jump into specific questions about the company, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Since I was in Junior High, I have always been good with computers and electronics. High School I took a computer engineering class where I learned how to build a computer from scratch completely, I went to Texarkana College of course I switched up and studied Criminal Justice with Computer Science a minor. In the first semester of college, I lost my mother to cancer which had a big impact on my life. We weren’t sure what direction in life I was headed! Lol, All I knew was to work to pay bills. After a couple of years, I decided to leave Texarkana to explore what other states had to offer. I moved to Shreveport, LA to work for a Banking/Software company where I grew more technical skills. After living there for a little over two years, I relocated to Dallas to continue growing my technology skills. I had a travel job, so every week, I traveled to different locations throughout the USA, installing computer servers and setting up their network. I decided last year to start my own IT business as my side job while still working a full time job that also invests in me.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all, with the passing of my mother at the age of 18 took a toll on me. She was a single mother with no siblings and raising two active boys. When she passed, I continued to be the man she raised me to be raising my little brother, maintaining a job to pay bills. I also had two kids at an early age, but they inspired me to get back into working in technology. Of course, life is a roller coaster, so I had some bumpy rides, but I’m very thankful to everyone who had a part to play in my career to get to the company I’m at now and starting my business.
Please tell us about your company.
So my company is called Maynframe Technology. We repair, update, configure laptops/desktops, setup and install servers/computers home & residential. They are currently working on being able to remotely support our customers for any troubleshooting issues they may have. Im very proud of this because its something that people need. I had friends asking me for advice and fixing their issues for years with laptops/desktops, why not start my own business resolving technology issues. Maynframe is currently working with several senior care facilities as we set up their computers and networking. We are also supporting them if they have any issues. I have bigger plans for Maynframe Technology which are currently being worked on. Technology isn’t going anywhere as COVID-19 shows just how important technology is, with doing so much remotely. It is growing.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory would be the time I traveled to California with my mother, where she had us doing a lot of sightseeing and the amount of fun we had. She was a musician and loved music and stopped by a record store and they were playing Zapp & Roger (Blow That Thing) and we were dancing lol.
