Thanks for sharing your story with us Chianna. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My husband and I moved to TX roughly nine years ago because I was becoming a State Farm Agent. I was an agent for two years. During that time, I realized I loved helping people plan for retirement more than helping with their insurance needs. My husband was already in business as an independent insurance broker [Secure Matrix Insurance Agency]. The agency did not have anyone focusing on financial services, so I partnered with him to fulfill that need. I have been helping people prepare for the twists and turns of life ever since. I love what I do!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the hardest challenges has been juggling motherhood while growing a business. I always want to be present for our children. In doing that, sometimes the business doesn’t grow as fast as I would like. The other challenge is the fluctuating income. While any business is growing, you and the entire family have to make sacrifices until the business is at a level you are comfortable with.
Secure Matrix Insurance Agency – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Secure Matrix Insurance Agency is a full-service brokerage. We are 100 % owned [not a franchise] and come with over 15 years of experience. We have two physical offices [Oak Park IL & Frisco, TX] but are licensed to do business in several states. What sets us apart from other companies is the experience, knowledge and quick turn around. We also specialize in commercial/business insurance. Commercial/business insurance can be difficult to insure but we excel at it. Our agencies’ focus on the business’ also flows over to my financial planning. It allows me insights on various ways to help my customers plan accordingly.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Leaving State Farm has been the proudest moment of my career. It felt good to be able to have the financial means and familial support to stop one job & start another. It can be scary to step out and do something new when you do not know what the outcome will be. However, 6.5 years later, I am still here and growing!
