Today we’d like to introduce you to JP Newman.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Veritas Impact Partners is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides critical health, financial, and educational programs and services to workforce and affordable housing residents. These at-risk people are the backbone of America – teachers, police officers, firefighters, retail workers and others who are integral to our communities and vulnerable to the economic effects of this crisis.
Now, in response to COVID-19, we have launched the Veritas Relief Fund to help hardworking Texas residents maintain Home, Health, and Safety during this time of crisis.
The Veritas Relief Fund will help renters in three areas:
Resident Resources. Veritas is leading a state-wide effort to deliver critical resources to Texas residents affected by COVID-19, alongside a coalition of the largest apartment owners, property managers, and apartment associations. Our team is researching, vetting and updating these resources daily so that residents and their families have direct, up-to-date access to funding and support. Currently, we have delivered over 150 resources focused on three critical areas: Healthcare, Food Security, and Financial/Rent Assistance, including over 750,000 open job opportunities.
Telemedicine. Veritas is providing free/low-cost telemedical services to qualified residents of workforce / affordable housing. Through our alliance with Teladoc, the nation’s largest telemedicine provider, this program helps residents avoid the stress and cost of visiting urgent care facilities. Doctors, via phone or online webcam, can provide physical and mental diagnostic support and prescriptions, in order to reduce emergency room overcrowding.
Rental Assistance. Veritas has partnered with The Resident Relief Foundation, whose mission is to help responsible residents stay in their apartments during an unexpected financial or health emergency. A portion of every donation will go to the Resident Relief Foundation, directed for Texas residents. The residents we serve are the backbone of America. They are also the most vulnerable to the financial and economic impacts of this crisis. When these workers suffer, so does the economic strength of our nation. Helping our workforce now is critical to America’s economic recovery.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Thrive FP – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
How are we different? For starters, we want to educate our clients. We do our best to deliver information to each recipient’s degree of knowledge and expand their understanding at every opportunity. Since there is an inherent risk to any investment opportunity, we want you to understand our due diligence process, and the items we assess to determine whether a property is a Thrive-worthy investment opportunity.
Another reason we’re different is because we want people at EVERY link in the economic chain to succeed. Our team has a long, successful track record of turning under-performing properties into those where both investors and residents benefit. We serve people within our communities with far more than the walls they inhabit. We make communities safer, save money through energy efficiencies, and try to connect people as neighbors and friends creating flourishing environments.
Some of the programs in our apartments include:
After school tutoring for children. Utility savings for tenants, including water-saving faucets and toilets, as well as solar screens to save on A/C bills. Above-average bonuses to all employees at our buildings upon project success. Imagine knowing that your investment is improving the quality of life for others, while simultaneously generating above-market returns. While we’re just as conscientious and protective about the bottom line, we also genuinely care about the residents in our communities. Our philosophy is that, when they succeed, a property succeeds – and when a property succeeds, investors win.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
