Jasmine, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Jasmine, I got into hair when I was younger, entire family full of hairstylist. I began taking my craft serious when I was pregnant at 18 and needed to make way for my new bundle of joy on the way. This was when I knew I had a gift that stood out from my family. I perfected my craft and work on many projects with well know hair companies and celebrities. From here I gained my knowledge on different hair extensions and began the research to expand my business even further and create my own line of Raw Authentic luxury hair extensions, Branding them JC Signature Extensions. I’m a natural born hustler so I picked up many other crafts and always looking to perfect what I do in anyway and now have my own wig like for many women both in state and international allowing them to know who I am and expand my horizons. Me and my husband closed on our house last July and of course everybody’s first thing is “how do we fill this house without breaking our bank”. This is where JC Decor’ was invented, I did my research and began to work with different furniture businesses and from here I opened my own online furniture store, jcsignaturedecor.com, where we have luxury pieces that most retail stores charge an arm and a leg to afford but here we cater to the everyday working citizen. Same day delivers/pick-ups as well locally.
My businesses and knowledge have opened many doors for me including real estate as well as my very own Salon coming very soon.! I’m super excited about the plans I have coming up and the doors God is opening for me and my generation to come. JC SIGNATURE will be an international known brand all over the world from hair to furniture to my own real estate ventures. I carry a lot of hats but I wear them all with pride all while giving all my customers the very best quality they can have from me in every aspect!
It was an honor to be chosen to tell my story so many times.! I finally got around to actually doing it lol but I’m Blessed to be a part of the Voyage Magazine legacy and what they are creating by allowing small businesses have a voice and a platform to reach many!! Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
So of the challenges I faced along the way were being a single black teen mother trying to make a way for myself as well as for my child. I had many obstacles getting started with branding myself and learning how to take a leap of faith when it was needed. I came across so many mentors along the way they gave me encouraging advise and skills I still use until this day. I got married to my loving husband of seven years now when I was 20 years old and since then it has been a weight lifted off my shoulders. He as well as many other family members has supported me, and lended a hand in any way they could to make sure I reached my goals no matter how extreme they are.
JC SIGNATURE LLC & JC SIGNATURE DECOR – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My first business is JC SIGNATURE LLC. This is my company of raw quality extension as well as me the stylist. I specialize in all thing’s hair extensions and lace.! I definitely can melt anything into the scalp with ease. I’m most known for my frontals and my deep bang traditional sew ins. My second company is my JC Signature Decor’. This caters to anybody all over who wants luxury quality furniture at an affordable price for all. I’m most proud of starting from the bottom and living my dreams out to be where I am. Hasn’t always been easy but definitely rewarding & worth it. What sets my companies apart from others is having quality customer service and catering to the everyday person making sure I provide luxury and quality at an affordable price.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
What defines success to me is determination & ambition. If you are striving to reach a goal and doing everything possible you can to make sure you reach it from the time you open your eyes you are successful to me! Always reach a goal and set a new one. This keeps you on your toes and at your best peak at all times.
