Meet Liz Lanier of JOY Macarons in Oak Cliff and Greenville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Lanier.

Liz, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a home baker who fell in love with the visual beauty, delicate texture, and intense flavor of macarons after visiting several iconic patisseries around the world. Finding it nearly impossible to get macarons in Dallas, I began making them myself – as a way to satisfy my own cravings and to make friends and family happy.

Motivated by the challenge of these temperamental pastries, I worked diligently for several years to perfect a variety of flavors. In 2015, we expanded our product line, introducing Macarons Ice Cream Sandwiches. We make the ice cream in house and offer flavors that change frequently.

We have steadily expanded our footprint over the last 2.5 years to two stores with a third opening in Fort Worth in September. Our mission is to live up to our name each day by bringing JOY to our customers.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning a small business is always a challenge. As an owner, you need to wear many hats. But with all the challenges, there are wonderful rewards.

I have had the opportunity to meet and work with the best group of people and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about JOY Macarons – what should we know?
