Meet Jenny Pantoja of Posh Skin Lab in Highland Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Pantoja.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ever since I was a little girl, I recall my mother always emphasizing the need to take care of my skin the same way she did. She taught me how to properly apply skincare products and always chased me with sunscreen every time I walked outside. Little did I know that this routine would become an integral part of my life and business.

My journey begins right after graduating high school. I was always intrigued by the medical industry and helping others. So, I was determined to become a nurse. At the same time, I got a job working as a receptionist at a Medical Spa. This is where I got my first glimpse of the world of aesthetic medicine. I decided to get my esthetician license. I figured this could be a short-term gig until I received my degree. I was enrolled into the UTA nursing program when I realized my passion wasn’t in nursing but in aesthetics. My short-term gig became a full-time career. My passion and knowledge for skincare quickly transitioned me into the Lead Aesthetician.

In the span of fourteen years, I learned how to use a selection of skincare machines and lasers. I gained invaluable experience learning the do’s and don’ts from other estheticians, nurses, cosmetic surgeons, and dermatologist I worked with. Starting my own business came to mind a few times but sounded impossible in my head. I never imagined actually going through with it. It wasn’t until my last employer announced that we were getting acquired, that I felt like that was the sign I was waiting for to finally branch out. With the love and support from my family and friends, just three months after resigning, I opened the doors to Posh Skin Lab in June 2019 and things have never been the same.

Has it been a smooth road?
My mother was my biggest supporter. We had many conversations about my career and she would always tell me I would be successful no matter what path I took. Unfortunately, she passed away on October 18, 2017 but I took her words to heart. Ultimately, she was the one who put me on this path without even trying. When the opportunity to start a business presented itself, I kept reminding myself of my mother’s advice. However, there were many moments where I really needed her strength and love to get through my fears.

In addition, I had recently given birth to my third child who was only three months old when I started planning my business. I was scared of the financial burden that came with opening a business and did not want to fail. My family and friends truly believed in me. They helped build my confidence and get me through a lot of anxiety. After much praying, decision making and sleepless nights, I was able to successfully launch Posh Skin Lab. Fortunately, almost a year later I’ve remained a thriving business. I’m still learning and working on balancing my business life and home life. It’s not easy, but both are very rewarding.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Posh Skin Lab specializes in advanced corrective skin treatments. I effectively treat acne, scars, hyperpigmentation and practice age management. I incorporate both medical and holistic treatments to give clients the best of both worlds. Each treatment performed is 100% tailored per the client’s needs.

I am very results-driven but that’s not the only thing that keeps me going. My relationship with my clients is so special to me. I forget I’m ‘working’ sometimes because I’m having a fabulous time doing what I love with great company. I value and cherish our friendship and their constant support. All those tags and reposts on Instagram never go unnoticed. Aside from my amazing local clientele, it’s an honor to have people come from out of town and out of state to seek my services. When I ask clients why they chose me, the most common answer is, because they felt the passion I have for skincare via social media. The trust they have in me even before even meeting me speaks volumes. I am humbled by the success I’ve had in growing my brand and the positive reputation I carry.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Posh Skin Lab is located in the center of Dallas, Highland Park to be exact, making it convenient for clients from all over the Metroplex to find.

I would absolutely recommend upcoming aesthetician to start their practice in Dallas. We are a city full of people who want to be and look their best! There are so many opportunities for upcoming aestheticians to shadow experienced professionals to gain industry knowledge. Getting hands on training is great to have before branching out on your own. Remember, experience is everything! I couldn’t have picked a better city to have my business prosper.
