Today we’d like to introduce you to Lolita Rodriguez.
Lolita, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Lola’s Classic Babies started primarily making diaper cakes for friends and family and a niche was discovered. Today with an inspiring new line of handmade all-natural products for the whole family. Lola’s products ease the pain of adding a new little to your family. By providing items that serve a purpose while bringing you back to your childhood. My sole mission is to make the transition from child free life to baby filled easier.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Working full-time from home is a challenge. With every success comes struggle! Being a mother and a wife is a job within itself. In the beginning, I also worked a full-time job to create a seed of revenue to start my brand. Trying to function fully on so little sleep was a huge hurdle, but I leaped. Once I narrowed it down by quitting the full-time job, getting people to see and support Lola’s Classic Babies became my ultimate goal! One obstacle I commonly came across was how the child’s grandmother made the same products like myself. So, I continuously strive for originality while keeping the same traditional feel.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Lola’s Classic Babies story. Tell us more about the business.
I specialize in original handmade unique baby accessories and ware. I’m known for my one of a kind diapers cakes and clutches. I’m most proud of staying true to myself and always making products I would use. Lola’s Classic Babies stands apart from your average grandmother with uncommon retro classic fabrics and designs.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I consider myself extremely lucky. I have my great husband of 13 years, a heathy baby boy, and I can’t forget our two fur babies. I feel karma plays a huge role in life. Whatever I put out gets returned back to me. So, I try to stay positive and put out good energy. It never fails me when things seem to be a struggle or something bad happens. The good we put out returns to us in a form in some type of miracle. Business wise it’s just about the same. I’ve been fortunate enough to always be in the right place at the right time. I’m lucky to be surrounded by a great community and loyal customers. This keeps my business striving even in this time of a world pandemic.
