Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Woods.
Brianna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m currently 26 and I started cooking in a commercial kitchen when I was 16. I went to a career based high school out in Mansfield, TX. Called frontier high school that recommended you pick a program of study to help shape your future career plans. I chose culinary arts which during my classes, we ran a full-service barista bar/bistro through our school. My classes were usually early morning so I ran the barista stands along with being the sous chef and helping prep for lunch service. Through the program, I felt a strong sense of purpose and my passion and efforts were always appreciated by my head Chef. I ventured off after I graduated but always held a passion for fine dining and experimenting in the kitchen. A little while later in life around 2018 I found the courage to put my skill out there and service people local to me out in Little Rock.. though the start was rough I had an outpour or support from family that helped me build a great clientele base. The news slowly reached back to my hometown and around the DFW which opened the door for me to cater and do meal preparation throughout the metroplex when I come to visit. Since catering is my passion, my goal is to build a clientele base that will allow me to cater high-end gourmet meals, events and meal preparation for high dollar clients and celebrities.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The journey taken towards finding your purpose is never a smooth one if you’re doing it right in my opinion, and I don’t think there’s an entrepreneur in the world without a strong sense of faith. I could tell you about all of the bad situations, mishaps and unfortunate events I’ve had in life but I’ve learned that most people don’t care so I’ll pass this along…Be easy on yourself, there is no rush because there’s no finish line this is a marathon not a race & cherish those that support you in all aspects. On a road like this, you will struggle and it’s inevitable, but your gratitude will continue to open doors.
Foodie Beauty Catering – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My specialties are meal preparation and catering. I would say I specialize in meal preparation because those clients are my foundation. I customize every meal prep according to my client’s workout routine, weight gain or loss goals & preferred protein. My clients appreciate my services because I will not give you want you want if it doesn’t fit your initial goal (I’m not just here for the $ I want to help) and I never let them eat boring foods.. unless they prefer it that way lol. My catering is where I’m able to show my creative side by releasing new menus with signature items. I believe what sets my company aside is that this is truly something I enjoy doing and I’m producing an affordable gateway for people to try gourmet items no matter what color, socioeconomic class or gender you may be.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
My personal definition of success is peace. A lot of people don’t define their idea of success and it leads to chasing waterfalls.. you have to know if your idea of success is being able to take off whenever you want or not work at all it’s about your happiness not your image. My short term vision of what success looks like would be being able to be 110% reliant off of my small business while being able to employ a team as well. I feel like that vision isn’t too far off so I’m slowly but surely looking for financial indicators that show me I’m closer to that goal. My long term vision for success is to possibly have 4-5 restaurant locations with partners that we all manage in various places across the US, taking care of my future family and being financially abundant & I can’t forget growing my own produce on my own piece of land. I want my household completely sufficient off the food grown on my land.
