Meet Sapna Radhakrishnan of Letsdothehumanthing in Frisco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sapna Radhakrishnan.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Why people do what they do? This question has been driving me since I was a child. One moment we are happy and angry, the next. I saw this in my environment and constantly questioned it. But no one seemed to have answers. I grew up being very restless and sensitive about human suffering. Years later, when I had my son, I saw myself repeating patterns from my childhood. Patterns of anxiety and anger. Determined to learn how to be a better parent, I dove deep into the world of human mind to find an answer to questions that had been nudging me. I read books on psychology, philosophy and human behavior, followed wisdom teachers and meditated. My child has been my greatest teacher and inspiration to be better.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has mostly been smooth. My biggest struggle was to remember my highest goal, to have a connection with my son and keep doing the work. There were days when I didn’t want to mediate or yell and scream, but I kept returning to the teaching and the practices. Though it is easy for me to meditate and bring the practices into behavior for me now, the days I don’t I am easy on myself, I simply come back to center the next time. I kept falling off the wagon but I kept getting back on.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Letsdothehumanthing – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am conscious parent and living coach/Speaker. I have ongoing group coaching and individual sessions for parents where I offer various tools to the parents such as conversational resources, emotional literacy and self-regulation to name a few which they use before they interact with their children. Mindfulness and meditation is integrated into the teachings. We don’t just become better at handling meltdowns and tantrums, we get better at life challenges and work.

Conscious Parenting is a powerful and rare blend of Western psychology and Eastern wisdom, and it lends itself to deep healing and awakening. Conscious Parenting encourages the parent to look inward and heal themselves so that they can then free their children to become the most expansive versions of themselves.

I offer workshops and talks at various corporate organizations, institutions and women’s groups.

I also have a whatsapp group where the moms support each other in a non-judgemental way and are there for each other.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am planning to expand and have more group sessions where I offer watsapp support, Book club and workshops, etc. it is so exciting for me when parents are ready to do the work. I am also having people join the group from different parts of the country and world so learning to deliver online sessions has been a big change.
