Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Crum.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Andrea. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve spent 25 years in Corporate, 15 of those in Leadership. Over the course of those years, I built my career from an intern to a member of the Executive Team, and now I am the proud owner of a women’s leadership development company, Genuinely You Leadership.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I lovingly say that I built my women’s leadership development company because of my own personal struggle with leadership. It was not a smooth road at all. Leadership has a way of shining the light on all that is wonderful about a person and also all that is not so great. Because as leaders we are tested, we are in high pressure situations, we are dealing with politics, and we are working with people who do not see the world through the same lens that we see it. All of that can be the perfect storm for some real-life leadership struggle to exist. Learning how to be a more genuine leader by leading with my strengths in balance has certainly been a journey for me. That’s the reason I founded Genuinely You Leadership… to help women embrace their genuine leadership style faster than I did.
Genuinely You Leadership – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
At the core, many women leaders struggle to be congruent in their leadership. When we aren’t bringing our true, genuine strengths to the table, we become cookie cutter, ineffective and dissatisfied. We are driven by people’s opinions, pressures, and politics, instead of our key strengths. Pretending to be something we are not is exhausting and, often times, leads to anxiety.
For a woman searching for more joy and significance in her life; Genuinely You Leadership is an organization that engages women to lead more genuinely while creating wins for her organization. You’ll no longer be consumed by the daily struggle of anxiety, comparison, and the high expectations of yourself and others because you’ll learn that who you were created to be is more than enough.
When you discover your genuine leadership style, you’ll unearth resilience and confidence to succeed professionally and, personally, you’ll feel a stronger sense of purpose and peace. You’ll embody the natural talents that are unique to you.
Leadership is a journey. It’s not about getting it all right. It’s about becoming comfortable with who you genuinely are, accepting it, and showing up every day with the significant qualities that make you SHINE.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
