Today we’d like to introduce you to Tinesha Darrough and Catrina Wofford.
8586 Stitched was founded by two women who love home decor. Our story started back in 2018 while at our corporate job. We gave ourselves a deadline to find us a side hustle and started brainstorming. Catrina took a sewing class and the idea of custom decorative pillows was born. March 6, 2019 was the launch of our business and we sold out the first week. At that point, we knew that we had something special.
Has it been a smooth road?
Actually, it has been a pretty smooth ride. Business has been great. The only issue we find ourselves struggling with is finding our target market.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the 8586 Stitched story. Tell us more about the business.
Our company is unique in many ways. We specialize in giving you a custom experience that will keep you coming back. As a customer, you can pick your fabric, the color and pillow size customized to fit your taste. We take your vision and make it a reality. We also do Names, Greeks, Announcements, Graduations…etc. Our motto is you ask and we deliver.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We plan to expand our business from just pillows to a full home decor line. We will be adding services such as Reupholstery and Interior Decorating. In the next five years, we see ourselves with a thriving brick and border as well as our online store.
