Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Coleman.
Alexis, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In the 9th grade I was diagnosed with hypertension by that summer I was fully diagnosed with HBP and was put on medication. Two years had passed and I discovered who Dr. Sebi was, I instantly got intrigued and started doing research. Once I found out it’s about what you eat and your gut health, my life changed immediately and my eyes opened. It was like I could finally see and think for myself and not listen to some doctor tell me that my only option was to take medication and that just because HBP runs in the family means that I will have it too. A year into research and switching up my eating habits, I got off the medication and guess what ?! I DO NOT HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE ANY MORE. Now, HBP might not be too big of a deal to some of you but it was and still is a huge accomplishment for me. I was able to lose weight and get off the bp medication all by switching up my eating habits. This is what started me on my never-ending journey. This is why I am so into what I do. Once you put in those results, you will see the change. Switching up your eating habits by even a little bit can make a difference.
Has it been a smooth road?
There will always be some type of obstacle in the road, big or small. No road is smooth, no matter how good it looks. Starting a business is not easy, everyday I’m learning something new and want to try out new things. Sometimes I end up becoming my own biggest struggle because I get hundreds and hundreds of ideas in my head and it starts to feel like my mind is all over the place, then I can’t quite focus on what I need to focus on and I get discouraged and off track. But in the end, I always remind my self to take a breather and slow down. My business Vibe Eatz is not something that is temporary. It is a lifestyle, a journey of transitioning your old self into your true self.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Vibe Eatz story. Tell us more about the business.
Vibe Eatz is a small start-up black-owned business that specializes in holistic healing and we produce all-natural herbal products that help serve the body in many ways. Vibe Eatz is known for helping others transition from their normal American lifestyle to an Alkaline or Vegan lifestyle (notice I am saying lifestyle.) Vibe Eatz does not give dieting plans because this isn’t a diet; it is a lifestyle. I’m proud of this business because it is pure and it is about making real changes in your life and learning about self-discipline. I also have a private group on Facebook called Journey of Vibe Eatz, where I share some of my plant-based/vegan meals, smoothies, and juices along with more insight about health overall.
I also want to give a quick shout out to another black owned business Lezah Essentials, this business has all of your natural body butters, hair oils, and so much more.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next decade I see myself opening up a small store front or a small studio where people can come in, meet me face to face and feel the vibe of what my business has to offer. I am already working on my website to make it easier for people all over the world to try out my products. People are starting to become more health conscious now, and my business is here to help them start off into this journey.
