Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Ogle.
Vanessa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I founded Enseo in 2000. It was a 2-year process to start Enseo as I purchased a division I worked for from a large, silicon-valley backed, publicly-traded corporation. I founded the company on the idea of translating needs of our customers to a technology deliverable. The customers we worked with early on included the TV Guide Channel, Marriott International, Target, Walmart, AMC Theaters, US Navy and others. The business has evolved into a technology-based services organization, and we have grown tremendously in the last 4 years since that evolutionary shift.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This road has had more bumps in it than a double diamond run on Ajax Mountain! We have struggled through market and technology changes, 9/11, and general corporate transformation. We are great at choosing the right technology and making it work… really work and we do that by having the right team with the right attitude. Right now, we are choosing our growth path and if we want a partner to move forward in an accelerated way, or if we continue forward with the capitalization structure we have today. I love the idea of having more money in the bank, but is it worth the risk of less flexibility or spending time explaining to a partner what we need to do and why? Only time will tell.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The best part of DFW as a CEO is direct flights to everywhere in the world! It allows me to get to where I need to go, and then get home (to where I want to be).
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I have a wonderful memory of a grade school teacher in McKinney ISD saying, “I look forward to reading about you in the newspaper one day Vanessa.”
