Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Moncrief.
Chelsea, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Every other Saturday since I was a little girl, my mom and I would go to the salon to get our hair done, if she didn’t do it at home. It would usually take her a little longer because her hair was down her back, so I’d always ask to play with the mannequin heads. I eventually started to do my hair, then my moms, then neighbors, and before I knew, word got around that I had an interest in hair. Fast forward to 2014, we relocated to Texas and I stopped doing hair. I wanted to pursue other careers to see what I actually enjoyed doing. It took me starting my hair transition from relaxed to natural in 2017 for my passion for hair to spark back up. I started to learn more about curly and coily textured hair. How I could better take care/maintain, what products are best suited and most importantly, how I could help other women fall in love with their hair. I love knowing that my client has left feeling better about her hair and gained some knowledge at the same time. I’ve now relocated to the Arlington area, after completing cosmetology school and obtaining my license, so I’m definitely excited about what’s to come!
Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all. It did start off rocky, but I have an amazing support system and they push me to keep growing and evolving. I met some awesome instructors during my tenure in cosmetology school and they all played a part in ensuring my success. There’s this quote I like to use, “In life, what you really want the most will never come easy, but it’ll definitely be worth the effort.”

I specialize in Healthy Hair! Whether you’re natural, chemically treated or color-treated. I love to do silk presses, blonding, coloring, natural styling and I just started offering makeup and lash strip services.
