Today we’d like to introduce you to Deja Island.
Deja, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2017 I told myself that I was going to pursue my childhood dream. So I did as much research as possible! I told myself if I really wanted to do this modeling that I would have to learn the ropes in and out so I started a photography business to learn the behind the scenes of modeling. I love the fact that I could create art through a photo. Once I seen what that life was like in 2019, I started my modeling career. I got accepted to do my first runway show for the modeling experience for LA fashion week. Since that day, I knew it was my destiny to do this. I got to walk in front of celebrities like Megan’s good YES MEGAN GOOD. The amazing experience I had being coached by Rio Summers did it for me. As soon as I got back to Dallas, I was getting booked left and right, it was an amazing first year. Here I am now still striving to go above and beyond. I pray that I’m published on a huge magazine cover one day.
Has it been a smooth road?
Anything you do in life will not always be smooth. There is always going to be obstacles and challenges along the way. I take them one at a time and conquer. I struggle with being a full-time mom, still trying to follow her dreams. I’m very thankful I have a supportive husband.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is that I’m 100% me once you meet me, you will see. I’m most proud of me actually chasing my dream. I’m a high fashion editorial model I also specialize in a runway and commercial modeling as well. I’m known for my print work.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In 5-10 years, I will be on every magazine cover you can think of. I will be the face of a huge brand. Also mentoring young aspiring models.
