Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawn-Auston Johnson.
Shawn-Auston, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Back in High school was when I took my first multimedia course. I had aspirations to make videos and become the next Spike Lee! In the process of doing a film, I also took a lot of still photographs. Once I attended Arizona State University, I took a few Film Major courses and realized that the direction I wanted to go. However, I was being complimented for the stills I took during that time. Then about a year ago… fast forward, I started to be around inspirational individuals and it peaked my interest to pick up a camera again. I purchased a Cannon T-Rebel 6 and my inspiration grew. Photographs speak a thousand words, but how do you make the right words speak. Thus Infinite Soul Imagery was birth.
Has it been a smooth road?
It was not a smooth road, definitely had its ebbs and flows. One of the biggest struggles was perfecting my craft since it had been so long since I had taken any photographs. I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase a decent camera when I started and grow from there. There were many late nights up with my fiancee doing shoots, learning the different lightings, seeking perspective from a fellow photographer and adjusting/changing lens to achieve the look I wanted to capture.
The next obstacle I have overcome was finding models to do a shoot for me. At the time, I was new to this industry so finding quality models to shoot without having any work for them to look at making it difficult to show my inspiration, creativity and what I was wanting to capture. As my portfolio began to build, that did reduce the hardship of finding models.

If I had to describe my business, the best way would be via the song titled “It’s a Vibe.” The experience is to have fun, enjoy the shoot and create art. I specialize in portrait photography with a boudoir style, helping women create their view of beauty and erotic with taste and class. What sets me apart is that Infinite Soul Imagery is your go-to photographer for weddings, engagements, personal art and family. The idea is to create infinite memories that last forever.

The city is a great place to start because there are hidden gems everywhere. The more drive you have to create your images, the more you will notice the beauties of the city. Plus, the community of people, they are loving and great people that you can find and network with to be able to grow.
