Thanks for sharing your story with us Shanice. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always had a passion for making drinks. I enjoy making sure everyone around me has the time of their lives. In which this turned into a business venture! I started off small by only selling Jell-O shots. I then noticed how much people enjoyed my Jell-O shots, so from there, I started experimenting with drinks in my kitchen. I’ve always been self-motivated and dreamed of becoming my own boss. So on May 16th of 2020, I turned my dream into a reality. Hawaiian Hennessy officially became an established Licensed Liability company! I now serve all around the DFW metroplex.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting a company from the ground up requires tough skin. They’re many critics I’ve had to overcome to stay positive and on track. With that came ignoring discouraging feedback about my business ideas. However, there will always be an opportunity to set yourself apart from the rest. I’m a firm believer in nothing worth having comes easy. Working a full-time job is tiring within itself. There are many days that I get off from a long day work and simply want to relax. However, discipline and consistency is the key to business.
Please tell us about Hawaiian Hennessy.
Hawaiian Hennessy LLC is a mobile-based business providing alcoholic beverages and treats. On a day to day basis, I create drinks with a passion to serve my consumers with the perfect sip for any occasion. The heart of my company are my customers. I am most proud to provide drinks that will add a spark to any occasion. I pride myself on making drinks that are for bosses. My definition of a boss is anyone that is making it happen for themselves and the people they love.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I am a very hands-on person! But, if I had to start over, I would’ve taken the time to do more research and create a more detailed business plan. This would have eliminated roadblocks along the way on the business side of things. Although it has worked out, knowledge is definitely power.
