Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam P.
Sam, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up in the small town of Middlesex North Carolina I Samuel Arthur Piece, known as Sam P, first came in touch with hip hop music through my childhood friend initially getting my influences from Notorious B.I.G, Nas, Big L, EPMD, Wu-Tang Clan and Mobb Deep. After dedicating my life to Christ in 2007 and committing to following Jesus, eight years later, I was inspired to write rap music again with a different focus, giving honor to Christ. This time instead of making it a hobby, I decided to take it seriously now, getting my influences from Andy Mineo, Lecrae, Trip Lee, and Bizzle. In 2015 I was encouraged to start his own music production business and independent label Renew Your Mind Music, formerly known as Renew Your Mind Records.
My purpose is to use hip hop music to encourage and inspire others through the gospel of Jesus Christ as well as a tool for evangelism to build meaningful relationships with other people, young and old. In the same year I started the label, I created my debut album “Renewed” right in my home. After much studying and reading on mixing, mastering and making beats, I co-produced and created the cover art to my 2nd album, “Be Still,” which was the start of my 1st popular single ‘Giantkiller” that was featured on the Trackstarz Line 4 Line podcast and YouTube channel. As an independent artist on my own label, father, and husband, my main focus is to please God and be the best representation of him to his wife, kids, family, friends, and enemies.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have faced many obstacles in my path as an artist. One of the major ones has been epilepsy, which prevents me from driving places for periods as long as six months. Cellultis a skin infection in my legs that gives me trouble walking and increases my temperature to a little over 100 degrees. And infertility. These are some of the obstacles that came in the way on my journey but even through those obstacles, I have always trusted in Christ and his word in Romans 8:28 that all things work for the good for those who love God and those who are called according to his purpose. It is in the most difficult times of our lives that we can learn to trust God with all our heart.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
We are an independent Christian music label that specializes in the genres of hip hop and r&b/soul. We offer music production services, audio engineering, and music marketing. We take the gifts and talents God has given us and use them to give him glory.

Apart of my success is credited to my wife Airreia and her encouragement and inspiration from songs released. My brothers Ernest Musik, Vessel Piece, and Trizzy Tre, who make RYM Music what it is.
