Today we’d like to introduce you to Brady Lewis.
Brady, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started doing photography in High School but always kept it as a hobby. It wasn’t until I was in graduate school studying to become a family nurse practitioner that I picked it up again with a different attitude. As if grad school wasn’t enough stress, I decided to start my business during that time. Despite how crazy it sounds, doing photography during that time helped keep me sane, and was a good way to involve my creative side in my very science-based life.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No one’s path is always smooth, but I sure didn’t help my case by starting my business during grad school! I’ve always held a nursing position, either in the hospital as a nurse, or a clinic as a nurse practitioner at the same time as I poured into my photography business, so time management has always been very important in my life. Additionally, like so many others, the pandemic has affected my life. It was December 2019 that my husband and I moved from Nashville, TN, back to Dallas, and of course, it was not too much longer before the crisis began. Serving my patients in the clinic is so important to me and a huge aspect of my life, especially during this time, but I equally love being able to serve my clients with beautiful lifelong memories.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I offer almost every kind of photography service but specialize in weddings and branding. What sets me apart is my caring nature. I can’t help it, but when you book me you gain not only a talented photographer but also a new friend. I also know CPR and can give you a flu shot, so that’s a plus too!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
It’s pretty bad luck to move across the country right before the global pandemic, and some would even say it’s bad luck to work in the medical field right now. However, I have been so lucky to be able to pursue my dreams and, in the process, I have been able to serve my community in so many different ways, through medicine and art.
