Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Lopez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Tiffany. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always loved creating, making and designing since I was a kid. So one day, I woke up and I felt God tell me its time, mind you I had tried so many things and nothing ever stuck from selling sticker nail polishes to making bows. But that fire and passion was never there, until one day, I made a trip to my local hobby lobby stood in the clay isle not knowing anything. I had never worked with clay, and honestly never knew you could even make earrings with it, so I grabbed three packs of clay. I will never forget the colors black, brown and white ( until today, I still have the pair hanging in my office to always remind me where I started).
I came home and as I just sat there praying and believing that voice I heard ITS TIME, I began to roll the clay and made my first ever pair of clay earrings!!! I was so excited I wore those earrings with so much joy and pride. I couldn’t believe I had made them with my own hands! I blasted them all over social media, something I NEVER, I repeat NEVER did. I was one of those people who posted every six months yet on Instagram multiple times a day saving post and wishing and hoping one day I could create and be an inspiration. As I sit here today, all hands in this business of jewelry making and seeing the growth and how far I’ve come, I can’t help but thank God, first of all, my husband and the powerhouse of a family I have supported me and rooting me every step of the way.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It so funny looking back when I made my first collection I had no idea I had to cook the clay for one hour to 1 1/2 and I cooked the whole first collection for 15 min and they kept breaking and I couldn’t understand what was going on thank God for research and YouTube, because I finally learned the right amount of time to cook clay.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business is jewelry making but I specialize in polymer clay earrings. The thing I’m most proud of is how each piece is handmade, how I pray for every piece of jewelry that goes out, and the sisterhood I have found thru molded.by.grace has blown my mind and it makes me so proud to be a part of it! I think and truly believe the one thing that sets me apart is my faith and my prayers over every piece of jewelry that is being created.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a big-time tomboy. I was always under the cars working with my dad getting down and dirty from rebuilding motors to changing breaks. I was a very shy kid who always wanted to just be with my parents. I never even tried making friends, so my escape was always drawing, making things playing outside with my sibling I was all about family.
