Thanks for sharing your story with us Dominique. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started Discreezips as an idea years ago. My menstrual cycle after I had my first son became irregular and it was so hard for me to remember when was the last day of my cycle. I jotted down what I wanted to futuristically see and after much thought, over the years, I finally put it into production. I’m ready now by the way if anyone knows Rihana, tell her we’re trying to create some black girl magic with her, lol.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No! Absolutely not! I wish the road was smooth. In technology, you’re always dealing with glitches that can be upsetting. My biggest challenge was moving all of my server information to Dallas from India. It was so stressful to say the least as it caused major outages to the daily operations. However, we did it and I’m so happy to be launching my application from this amazing city with amazing people. I’m in awe of the hospitality. 🙂
We’d love to hear more about Discreezips.
My company’s name is Discreezips. We are creating products for the brand while building a community that women can truly relate to. My app allows you to track your cycle and your moods no matter your age group. If you don’t have a period, no problem, you and your significant other can track each other’s mood swings while bringing you closer in your home. You can also track your family member, significant other or even a surrogate if necessary. As long as they are entering their info, you can see it. Is your experience pain or cramping in school? No problem. You can make a call into the nurse’s office for directions because you’re noticing nausea on your daughter’s app during that time of the month.
We also have a male portal that we are working on relaunching soon. There are so many single dads with daughters, men that would love insight with their better halves without bugging them, and a community that is needed for this. What sets us apart from other companies is that we have a one-time fee. I am the proudest that I am the first black woman to create this. I don’t give myself enough credit so I’ve been told lol. I am very proud that we are doing what we need to do to fix our kinks to be ready to relaunch Jan 2021. What also sets us apart is that I am very involved in every aspect of my app and that our prices are incredibly lower than all of the other apps that offer a layer of fees to get the same features that we offer at a cheaper price. We are excited for 2021.
What were you like growing up?
I was really into the arts. I always have been. Singing and dancing was my life as a child. I was observant yet outgoing and I always loved music. With everything going on I wish I could go back to the 90s for a bit. The 90s was a whole vibe.
