Carmen, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The day I took the leap of faith, January 9th, the day I told myself it was time. I was so overwhelmed with life. I’ve always kept myself busy with a full-time job. I was so tired of going to work with no motivation. I began to gather my ideas for months! also began testing out all my products. For the first time, I was excited to create something of my own. For months I couldn’t think of anything else. I would go to my full-time job and I wouldn’t feel like I would be working. My mind was always busy going through all my ideas. By the time I realized everything, I had already bought my first inventory of products. Day and night creating my website, there is always something to change or improve. The day my inventory arrived, the feeling I got from it was kind of scary. I told myself we learn from failure, and if I failed, it was ok. I promoted, my friends promoted my brand. I also sent out PR packages to get my brand out there, and all of a sudden, I was completely sold out! I remember thinking to myself. I really did this, and I haven’t stopped since then.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I believe it’s been semi-smooth, the big hit had to be Covid-19. I would see how a lot of businesses were suffering from it and it would scare me. I tried putting my launch date the furthest I could. Sometimes business is a little slower than you expect. Other days is like 15 plus orders in one day. I tried not to get discouraged and just keep promoting myself.

Crystal’s Lash Bar, I do all kinds of things for my business. Order all my inventory, unpack, quality check everything, ship orders, promote. I specialize in Handmade, High-quality strip lashes. They last up to 25+ times with proper care. I am proud of my customer service, love to go above and beyond for our clients. I do all things with love. Every order that comes in I always love to put a little extra gift. It’s not just making the money. It’s having a good relationship and reputation with customers and future customers. I believe that’s what sets myself and the company apart.

I am super thankful for my friends and family that support me, a special thanks to my husband because he’s taken his time to help me improve on small tasks, he’s also given me awesome ideas.
