Today we’d like to introduce you to Marion Skinner.
Marion Skinner is an accomplished businessman. Over a 12 year period, he has founded and ran several businesses. Once he began his journey. He attended Full Sail University in Florida. Upon his completion in Audio Engineering, he moved to Atlanta to begin his journey in music production. Finding himself working with the likes of major recording artists and producers. One day one of the notable artists explained to him how the liquor industry worked in the music industry. He took that insight and combined with his music education and began working with the start-up company called Nuvo liquors. While managing endorsement deals between Nuvo and recording artists. After further education in the field, he later started a tequila brand named Espada Tequila. Establishing distribution throughout Texas and Atlanta. He later sold the brand to a private equity company.
Now with a taste of entrepreneurship, he moved towards other endeavors. Applying the principle of using education to solve problems and creating opportunities. He built up a successful trucking company. Over several years he began to sense a need to connect more with helping people with their own endeavors. He wanted to see how he could help those like his mother. How could he create the same success stories? Going over his options, he decided to start an accredited trade school. The school became a way to offer real-world education opportunities. Plus, it allowed him to be able to inspire them to start new careers or become entrepreneurs like himself.
Marion Skinner is committed to solutions derived from a strong education. He sees now more than ever the need to use education to navigate the difficulties of the pandemic. Education that will allow the everyday man and woman to aspire for greatness.
“Every man and woman owes it to themselves, family and community to invest time in getting back to the basics of education. Only proper and focused education will pull people out of this economic hole.”
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Texas Advancement Center – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I started Texas Advancement Center because we noticed a need in our Community for a career school that really catered towards helping those unemployed. The goal of Texas Advancement Center is to drive down the Unemployment Rate. We are currently at War with the Unemployment Rate. It got the best of us from March-July but since August-Current, we started really gaining back Momentum. We want all of our student to graduate from our school with a sense of security now having the proper training in an essential Industry.
Our Strategic Partnerships have been amazing with the rise in-demand for drivers Amazon and Fedex have proven to be a great start for our students. One thing we love to note is that our school not only certifies our students in driving but we also walk you through the process of having your own fleet of trucks and getting your own contracts with these same companies. With Baylor Scott & White, they assist our students with the real-world, hands-on Experience and Clinical Hours they need to graduate. With many of them getting the opportunity to continue working there full time.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our Future Plans and Expansions Consist of a total of five locations in the DFW Metroplex then expanding towards Austin, Houston and San Antonio.
