Today we’d like to introduce you to D’Andre Moorefield.
D’Andre, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
About 28 months ago, I was out at a bar with a few of my good friends in Fort Worth. In the corner of the bar, there was an extremely bright ring light that caught my attention. In the initial, I didn’t know it was a photobooth. I walked over, examined it and started taking a few pictures. I sent the pictures to myself and continued on with my evening. The next morning, I woke up and pretty much had no idea what happened the night before after 6 PM. I’m sure many of us can relate when you overindulge. 😉 The only thing that brought my memory back to me were the pictures I took on that really cool photo booth the night before. I started thinking to myself, “I wonder how many people forget about certain moments they had the night before? I want to start capturing these lost moments cause my life is actually crazy.” From that point, the idea was conceptualized. I decided to launch a photo booth business.
I began to partner with various bar industry establishments and nationally based event planners all across the country. Today, Social Hubb has emerged as one of the leading companies in photobooth rental technology and entertainment solutions.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been anything but smooth. I’ve faced countless rejections from bar/club owners, telling me I’m not a legitimate company. Event planners wouldn’t partner with me because I had no credible backing. I’ve been broke. And when I say broke, I mean a negative account balance broke. I went all-in with this business, invested every single dollar I had into it. Even other people’s money who invested into the company and the vision. I voluntarily gave my car back to the car dealership, as a voluntary repossession, to save money from what I was spending on a car note, to double down in my business. I haven’t had a car in 24 months. I’ve had to Uber and borrow my mom’s car to events that were renting one of my photobooths. I’ve been in the trenches, grinding and putting in the work for over 28 months now. And now, I’m just receiving the recognition. The journey has been tough, but it’s been incredibly worth it.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’ve never been one to truly believe in luck but I know that it does play a part in everything we do in life, in some form or capacity. The luckiest thing that’s ever happened to me, personally and within a business, is partnering with my good friend, now brother, Kanetis Mays. Kanetis is as sharp as they come. He has generated partnerships and facilitated profitable business ventures with more than 20 investors and clients alike. His creative mind and business acumen is what pushed Social Hubb in the direction in which it’s now headed. The ideas he and I create, together, is what helped establish our dominance within this space. Kanetis is the appointed COO of Social Hubb, and I’m incredibly lucky and blessed to be running this business with him.
