Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Reeves.
Madison, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I graduated college in May 2019 with a business degree and I really had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I had a few jobs here and there, but nothing I was passionate about. Then this year, when the pandemic hit, I had some time to think about life and that is when I decided to start my own business! I am very passionate about lashes and turquoise so that is what I decided I would sell. I arranged a business plan and was able to launch on my birthday, July 15. I have been so blessed by friends and family that have supported me along the way, and it makes me so happy to provide products that my customers love!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey of starting your own business definitely has its ups and downs. It was challenging to find the right vendors that provide the perfect products for my customers. Also, the cost of starting your own business is extremely high. But thankfully, I was able to save enough money to get started!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Rocking M Lashes – what should we know?
My business specializes in mink eyelashes and authentic jewelry, mostly turquoise. I feel like lashes and jewelry are the cherry on top of a perfect outfit! I am most proud of starting this business all by myself and all of the sales I have acquired this far. It brings me so much joy to hear feedback from customers saying that they absolutely love their purchase! What sets my business apart is that I include a little goodie and a scripture card signed by me in every purchase. I would not be where I am today without Jesus, and it is my hope that each bible verse card will speak to every one of my customers.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Passion is the most important quality for success. It is important to be truly interested in your products and use them yourself so you can relate to your customers. I love what I do and I try to go above and beyond to better my business. Making a sale and receiving awesome feedback gives me the utmost sense of satisfaction.
