Today we’d like to introduce you to Kajori Dasgupta.
Kajori, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My story started a long time ago. The story is about a young girl who comes from India to her dreamland in America. Her dream of living in America quickly vanishes as she found herself in an abusive relationship. She was a prisoner in a free country.
In life, we often come to a point where you have two roles to choose from. One looks smooths which means to accept what life offers and just keep going with it. The other one, which looks like a bumpy ride which means it won’t be easy, will have challenges but it will finally lead to success. In my life also I was at this point.
Being from a small town of India the most obvious choice was to take the easy way but my determination, my go-getter persona forced me to choose the second option which was tough but eventually, it took me to where I am today.
And that gave birth to me as an author and a singer. I decided to sprinkle my life with all my thoughts, my emotions and my experiences in the form of music and writing.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There is nothing called a smooth life, life is like a heartbeat if it goes up and down, that means we are alive. And if the heartbeat on the monitor goes straight, it shows that we are dead. Similarly, to be successful, we all have to face the ups and downs, success and failure to live the purpose of life.
There were many struggles but the biggest ones were as follows:
1. My self-confidence was shattered.
The situations that I faced in my life kept haunting me day and night which eventually gave birth to thoughts like, Am I worth it? I cannot do this, What will people think about me, etc. etc. And my mind was hard-wired with the assumptions of self-doubt. So, the first thing was to get back my self-confidence.
2. Unexpected events in life.
I was always a person with big dreams but then life just turn the tables, I wasn’t ready with alternative options and this sudden change did not give me time to plan my further move in my life. And that delayed my decisions and impacted my life.
3. Lack of proper direction.
In life, when you are happy, rich and successful, you will always find yourself surrounded by people. But, when you are going through tough times, that’s where hardly someone will stand beside you. So, I was also facing those times when I did not have anybody to look up to.
But then that little sparks in me which kept reminding me of my dreams and my inspiration came from Oprah Winfrey talk shows which gave the energy, boosted my self-confidence and gave me a road map of my life.

I am a self-published author and a freelance singer.
Through my book, I want to inspire people who face challenges in their life because life is not that easy. I also want to be an inspiration for all those girls who dream big but the world tells them that they cannot.
Singing is one of the best ways to communicate my thoughts and keep my soul calm and strong to keep going and be unstoppable.
I am a semi-classical singer who is open to unleash the best potential for the listeners.
I am most proud of the way I practice gratitude and live a life of abundance.
I am a person who speaks from heart, a lifelong learner and I am a people person, which helps me to become a better person than yesterday.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Though I love to live in the moment, but still have plans for the next few years which I am taking step by step.
Through my book, I am able to help a lot of people and guide them through.
I am working with few renowned composers to create some great music albums which can connect my heart to my audience—also creating my own composition.
Also, working on some E-books and on my YouTube channel.
