Today we’re excited to introduce you to Brandy Boyles. We were introduced to them by one of our community members and content partners – Amanda Reaves. Check out our conversation with Brandy below.
Brandy, thanks for taking the time to share your story with us today. So, let’s start with your personal story – what can you share with us?
My youngest daughter is 7 years old, she was being bullied on her bus and in class. She has the most amazing heart and she couldn’t understand why kids were being so hurtful. Every morning while we waited for her bus she would say, “It’s ok, Mommy, maybe my friends won’t be mean to me today.” I reached out to the cosplay community to ask for some encouragement to share with Ava. They came through in a wonderful way.
Thanks for sharing that with us. How about obstacles and struggles – has it been a smooth road?
We have had some rocky days but Ava is a wonderful little girl and has learned that some people can be mean.
We’d love to hear more about your experience with Amanda.
She reached out to me once I posted our story on Instagram. She not only gave a shout out to Ava, she went above and beyond. She added Ava to her subscription list and sends packages to Ava on a regular basis. Ava absolutely loves those days that she gets her very own special package. She is a wonderful and encouraging person. Not only did she take the time to send Ava goodies, she continued to keep her spirits up by not only sending one package to cheer her up, she stuck with it. She checks in with me about her on a regular basis. She is truly an inspirational person.
What’s one of the most important lessons you’ve learned along the way?
That there are so many good people willing to reach out to help strangers.
