Meet Spencer Hodge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Spencer Hodge.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My father, Jeff Hodge, opened Diamond H3 Ranch, a wedding venue in Weatherford, Texas, almost six years ago. One of our good friends, Rhonda Cooper, managed the venue for us for four and a half years and then she decided to hand her job over to me. When I stepped in and took over, I was very nervous and wasn’t really sure what I was getting myself into. My dad has owned the land for over fifteen years and it is our little slice of heaven. Since I grew up on the land the venue is built on, the venue is that much more special to me. We love getting to share it with everyone who comes through the gates of the ranch. I love every minute of my job and I have made so many lifelong friends and been apart of so many amazing experiences. I will forever be grateful for the experiences that this job has given me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I first began managing the venue in October 2019, it was such an easy transition for me because of how well Rhonda did with establishing the venue. She taught me everything that I needed to know and I am so grateful that she was able to show me the ropes! I was definitely a first-timer in the wedding industry but with each wedding that goes by, I have learned many lessons. It’s also very difficult to manage work and still be a full-time student, but thankfully I am graduating in May 2021.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Diamond H3 Ranch is a family-owned, rustic elegance style event venue located in Weatherford, Texas. For the most part, we do weddings but we have been chosen for other events like charity fundraisers, school and church events, as well as local business and company gatherings. Diamond H3 prides itself as being here to support the community as well. The venue sits upon the rolling Parker County hills among an expansive 100-acre ranch and we offer the best views around. The sunsets that we get to see are unreal and everyone raves about them. We just built an open-air chapel in March 2020 and it has been a really big hit with our brides. They all love it. We are so proud of the reputation we have built and the many smiles we get to see on wedding days. We take pride in making it the best day ever for each bride and groom that says “I do” with a view!
