Meet Whitney Jordan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Jordan.

Hi Whitney, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Whitney, a mom + lifestyle blogger and Dallas photographer. I launched a blog about motherhood during maternity leave in early 2020. I found myself with tons of free time (newborns sleep a lot) and noticed that I had a million questions about motherhood. I started documenting my trials and errors and that’s how my blog, BlockerEverAfter.com, came to be. It quickly turned into a resource for first-time, new mothers and I enjoyed sharing my stories and discoveries. In an effort to appear more professional, I dusted off my camera, learned photography, and that’s when I discovered how much I love the camera! I decided to launch my photography business, @WBJordanPhotos, to capture digital content for other entrepreneurs and influencers.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. There will always be struggle and adversity. The biggest challenge for me was self-doubt and imposter syndrome. When you’re new to anything, you tend to doubt yourself, especially when it’s on a platform such as social media, where you’re opening yourself up to scrutiny. “Am I good enough? Who am I? What if I’m not accepted?”. For me, the challenge was knowing that I am capable and standing firm in my abilities. Surrounding myself with an environment that supports and encourages was KEY! I started by cleaning my IG; I spend a lot of time on social media and believe it or not, you consume your Instagram feed! So I started there. If it didn’t feed back into me in a positive way, it had to go. Next was my circle of friends. I shared with them my plans and used them as accountability partners. Joel Olsteen’s quote, “You need to associate with people that inspire you, people that challenge you to rise higher, and people that make you better,” really stuck with me. Your destiny is at stake, don’t waste valuable time with people that are not adding to your growth. And then I fed back into myself with podcasts, books, and the word! This really helps combat the fears and self-doubt.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I help entrepreneurs, creatives, coaches, and influencers elevate their brand through images. When I first started blogging, I noticed a lot of my peers needed to elevate their brand images. I believe that appearing professional and showing up in that manner can make or break a brand. I help entrepreneurs rebrand and capture their vision in photographs so that they can put their best foot forward every time. Digital content and social media have taken over the world and allowed startups to propel themselves into success from their devices! My intentions are to help others take full advantage of this.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People influence people so any form of referral is appreciated. Follows, likes and shares can place me in front of the perfect audience, even if it’s just one.
