Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Del Cueto.
Hi Danielle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello, my name is Danielle Del Cueto and I am a Bella Modeling School Grad and Model/Actress represented by ICON Studios Dallas. What started my interest to actually pursue a career in modeling was my interest in the fashion industry around my Sophomore year of High School when I was in Theatre. I was in charge of making costumes for our musical and enjoyed the process of making them. So I then took the fashion design class my junior year in school and was in the school fashion show for my design class. Although it was not such a serious event and from what I remembered, ten or fewer people showed up the watch, walking down that runway sparked my love and interest for modeling.
So then, I would watch many runway videos on YouTube from Dolce & Gabbana, Victoria Secret Fashion Show and many more, ask my mom or dad to take pictures of me for Instagram (which I would have never done before, I was a pretty shy girl growing up) and started to be more confident and less self-conscious of myself for modeling because I knew if I really wanted to be in this industry, I would have to be confident in myself. There was a moment before I decided to join Bella Modeling School that I was a little hesitant with myself because I had thought for the first time, “wait… all the models I have seen in videos are tall… I’m not tall, can I actually do this?”
And then started to look up any models that were my height and had been successful. To my luck, there were two that stood out: Lily-Rose Depp and Laetita Casta. One is a little shorter and the other is a little taller than me and BOTH have made it very successful despite their height in the industry. (I think that drove even more motivation for me to just go for it) That made me decide to do it!! I then went with the AMAZING Bella Modeling School for my training in modeling, met many new people, made new friends, got lots of good practice and opportunities for modeling experience and eventually, I graduated in October 2020, walking in front of many Dallas Modeling/Talent Agencies and was super blessed to get signed by one of the agencies there!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road definitely was a little bumpy getting myself started since I was very shy and self-conscious growing up. In the beginning of this journey, as much as I wanted to model and was inspired by many models, at the same time, I wasn’t that confident with the image of myself and my body, having many thoughts going my head such as “are they going to stare at me?” “What will people think of me if I start posting more?” “I wish I was taller” “Are people going to laugh?” “Do I need to be skinnier?” etc. If I could, I would go back and give myself a GOOD pep talk and make sure those thought didn’t happen. But, I found the confidence I needed when I started following people such as @iskra and @tess_mcmillan on Instagram. They are both amazing models signed to top agencies. Both of them have definitely broken the wall of the “ideal model look” and are so confident and beautiful in their work. That’s when I decided to stop thinking that way because no matter my height or how I look, if they were able to overcome that adversity in this field and be so successful doing the thing they love, then I have to hop on the train and do the same thing!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am currently a model and actress represented by ICON Studios Dallas. I model mostly and take the opportunities I get to audition for acting roles. My favorite things to model for are beauty shoots (modeling makeup looks) and candid/fashion shoots. What I am most proud of is when I had my first magazine publication! I was featured in the ELEGANT Magazine June 2020 issue no. 4 with photos by my amazing friend/photographer Tamara Kozareva. What makes me so proud is that out of many monthly submissions, they accepted and used our photos, and it was both our first magazine publication. Now moving on to what sets me apart from others, I think what really sets me apart is that I can get along with almost anyone. Not having those awkward first encounters or bad relationships with anyone is a good thing I think I have that sets me apart.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I feel as though good luck has played a good role in my life and business. Whenever things seem to get worse or not so good for me, things always somehow work out in the end, whether it happens quickly or not.
