Today we’d like to introduce you to Denise Wolford.
Hi Denise, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a 24-year survivor from domestic violence it all started in the 9th grade and ended on 7/18/1996. Abuser # 1 wanted to control where I went who I was looking at and what to wear and last but not least, every time we were together we fought! Abuser # 2 was four years older than I was I thought he was more mature but he didn’t still continue to run the street with the boys, cheat and wanted to fight when he didn’t get his way.
Abuser #3 was the icing to both 1&2 He was controlling, jealous insecure a cheater and more we fought all the time it wasn’t till one night I just knew he was going to kill me after an exhausting fight he took a broom stick broke it in half after beating with it said I should just take the sharp part of the stick & kill you. I knew that was the end, but the incident that gave me the green light to leave happened 7/18/1996 I will share later. My determination now is to help as many women, men and children live wholesome and healthy lives… know the difference between Love & Lust. I’ve been in 29 markets, 14 States & two Countries, making a difference in the lives of many.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been nothing but smooth sailing every since.
